The filming of the four-episode documentary series “Greece 365”, produced by the Center for Greek Culture, which aims to highlight Greek culture, gastronomy, local identity and the experiential experiences that visitors gain from our country to the international audience, begins in September under the auspices of the GNTO.
The four episodes are structured on the basis of the corresponding seasons of the year, each time showcasing individual regions of Greece. Specifically,
the 1st episode is titled “Spring – The Renaissance” and includes Epirus (blooming almond trees, Easter rituals), Peloponnese (planting season, cultivation of ancient seeds), Crete (meadows with herbs, bees, wildflowers) and the Cyclades (spring festivals),
the 2nd episode, titled “Summer – The Pulse of the Sun”, features Samothrace (fire walking ceremony), Nisyros (volcanic festival), Amorgos (fishing village, return of immigrants) and Epidaurus (ancient theater, summer performances under the stars)
the 3rd episode is dedicated to “Autumn – The Harvest of Memory” and presents Nemea (harvest and grape pressing), Lesvos (olive harvest), Thessaly (tsipouro distillation) and scattered villages of the hinterland (artisans, elderly storytellers, young people with sustainable practices).
Finally, the 4th episode is titled “Winter – The soul in silence” and focuses on Metsovo and Florina (winter in the mountains, mobile herders), Mani (storms, stone villages), Mount Athos (monks, chants, manuscripts) and Evrytania (mountain school, education in silence).
The series will be broadcast in Greece and abroad, through targeted collaborations with international media, cultural institutions and tourist organizations.
Gastronomy series with M. Loi
Finally, the Greek National Tourism Organization supports the communication plan for the screening and promotion in the USA, through the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) television network, of the 13-episode gastronomy series “The Life of Loi” (3rd season), with Greek chef Maria Loi.
In this year’s season, which began airing on July 15, 2025, M. Loi creates recipes on a terrace in Plaka, with the Acropolis in the background, encouraging viewers to visit Greece, and in the southern suburbs of Athens, with an unobstructed view of the Saronic Gulf.
The popularity of the show and the credibility of this particular streaming network in North America are expected to provide significant exposure for Greece and at the same time promote Greek gastronomy in this market.
