NATO has confirmed that active negotiations on providing Ukraine with additional Patriot air defense systems are ongoing. This was reported by an Alliance representative.

“This is not about a single meeting on a single day. It is a continuous process aimed at quickly delivering urgently needed support to Ukraine.”

As part of this process, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO, General Alexus Grynkewich, held talks with the Chief of the German Armed Forces General Staff. The NATO Allied Command Europe also participated in a meeting with allies at the Alliance headquarters in Brussels. All these actions are aimed at providing Ukraine with the necessary air defense means as soon as possible.

“These are just two of many meetings intended to provide Ukraine with what it needs – now.”

Regarding further details, the Alliance promises to provide information as soon as it becomes possible.

Earlier, Reuters journalist Claudia Tanios reported that on July 23, a meeting took place between countries owning Patriot systems and Ukraine’s donor countries. The goal of this initiative is to find additional Patriot batteries to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.

At the U.S. Army Association symposium (LANDEURO) in Wiesbaden, General Grynkewich emphasized the critical importance of air defense for Ukraine:

“Air defense is vital on the modern battlefield. We have seen the scale of recent Russian attacks against Ukraine. So this is a key area of focus. I intend to bring everyone together to explore what is possible. My mission is to provide Ukrainians with what they need to defend themselves.”

– General Alexus Grynkewich

The general also confirmed that preparations are already underway for the arrival of the first batch of Patriots.

On July 25, it became known that General Grynkewich met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during which they discussed the delivery of air defense systems.

“These systems are already on their way! This will help protect our land and save civilian lives.”

– Oleksandr Syrskyi

On July 14, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President Trump stated that the U.S. would produce weapons for Ukraine, which European countries would pay for. The U.S. will also allow the shipment of Patriot air defense systems.

According to the Secretary General of the military-political bloc, Mark Rutte, under the agreement, Kyiv may receive a large number of air defense systems, missiles, and ammunition.
