Vela Luka on the island of Korčula is once again hosting a heartfelt tribute to one of Croatia’s most beloved artists, Oliver Dragojević.

This summer marks seven years since his passing, and the annual Trag u beskraju celebration officially begun today with a musical journey from Split to Vela Luka.

Around 700 people boarded the ferry Korčula, which departed Split accompanied by the sound of Oliver’s timeless hit Pismo moja.

The journey, which the singer himself took countless times in his life, was transformed into a floating concert, with musicians and passengers singing along even before departure.

The ferry concert marks the start of a six-day tribute in Vela Luka, running from 26 to 31 July. Named after one of Oliver’s most iconic songs, Trag u beskraju has become a unique tradition that combines music, memory and the sea in honour of the legendary singer.

The central event will take place on 29 July, the anniversary of Oliver’s passing. A grand concert will be held on a floating stage in the heart of Vela Luka, featuring a stellar line-up of artists including Nina Badrić, Tedi Spalato, Klapa Rišpet, Marko Škugor, Marko Tolja, Klapa Kaša, Petar Dragojević, Miroslav Tadić, Yvette Holzwarth, Vlatko Stefanovski, Antonio Serrano, Eli Žuvela and the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alan Bjelinski.

On 30 July, a jazz night will take place in the market square in front of St. Joseph’s Church, featuring performances by Miroslav Tadić, Yvette Holzwarth and Vlatko Stefanovski.

To accommodate the many fans travelling from the mainland, Jadrolinija will operate a special high-speed ferry service:

Departure from Split: 29 July at 17:30 (arrival in Vela Luka at 19:30)
Return from Vela Luka: 30 July at 01:00 (arrival in Split at 03:00)

One-way tickets are priced at €30 and are available for purchase via Jadrolinija’s website, mobile app or official sales outlets.
