  1. Everyone holding a refugees welcome poster should personally host a refugee in their home

  2. DON’T DOWNVOTE ASKING A SERIOUS QUESTION. Why do we want more refugees/Migrants? Don’t we have enough immigration already?

(EDIT1:Thanks for actually engaging in a discussion guys you usually dont see that much on here or on reddit as a whole)

(EDIT2: Going to stop replying, thanks for all the people who cited articles and sources. Thanks again for speaking to me and one another instead of pointless name-calling. <3)

  3. Those same signs, absolutely everywhere -all the time. Job lot renta mob.

  4. I didn’t realise UKIP still existed, I thought they were absorbed by Reform. Learned something new.

  5. I was confused as to why a mass deportation march was saying refugees welcome. Had to do a double take on the title

  6. It still staggers me how many dumbasses don’t know the difference between a refugee and an economic migrant.

  7. My own personal view is that anyone is welcome here, who looks to share and become part of our culture and values. Call me right wing, but I dont want anyone here who wants to make here, like they place they left. Being called a bigot because you dont want Scotland to stop being Scottish eventually is one of the weirdest things in this new age of right vs left that only seems to care about winning, but never actually talking about the realities of certain situations.

  8. Bought and paid for protest for a mass import of people who only want hand outs.

  9. You are not having children, and you are replacing your culture and history by bringing migrants from developing countries, migrants who do not integrate and who are creating alternative societies with own set of rules. Look what happens in Sweden, Germany, France, Italy.

  10. I like the idea but I don’t like “Refugees Welcome” signs.

Exact same signs in Germany under Merkel and look how things have been going there.

It’s so frustrating that immigration discussion has to be between these useful idiots and Reform/UKIP racists

  11. Scotland bet migration from 19,000 in 2005 to 61,600 in 2023. If you don’t think this is an issue you are deluded. Our country is struggling and at breaking point.

Australia/ Poland have it right. It is not racist/xenophobic to want decent people coming in to your country.

  12. UK government should house more migrants in Scotland tbh. England is taking way more in relation to per capita.

  13. Still iffy on Reform. But usually people I dislike marching against them and emotionally blackmailing me into not voting for them pushes me in that direction.

Labour last time. Let’s see who next time.

Why on earth shouldn’t illegal immigrants be deported? Why the hell not? They broke the law to get here, aren’t those exactly the type of newcomers that are less likely to abide by the rest?

(The SNP voters here will at least be happy that I didn’t vote for the Conservatives, not for Boris, not for Rishi. Doubt that will change)

EDIT: Made an error here: SNP voters are never happy.

  14. If you actually put a vote out to the people of Scotland I can guarantee you that you’ll find out they arent really welcome…

  15. Meanwhile Reform UK were in Motherwell town centre handing out leaflets and shouted abuse at me when I stopped my dad from taking one as we walked past.

  16. Thank you for the info that sub exists. I’m running to jump in.

  17. I’m torn here .

    I hate UKIP and Reform.

I also hate misogyny and homophobia and antisemitism.

Ask yourself about the religious/cultural/social views of those landing on the Dover coast on dinghy’s. Let’s be honest , illegals immigrants from Muslim nations pretty much make Farage look like a fucking hippy.

Reluctantly I say , I support mass deportations. At least those who don’t abide by our culture . I’m socially liberal and generally have voted SNP and at the last election Labour (we can argue how well that turned out 🙄) but importing thousands of people who hate gay rights and woman’s rights isn’t a good thing frankly.

The irony is most of the downvotes come from socially liberal people who would be thrown from roofs if Islamist’s ever got into power

  18. Interesting amount of people who are not Scottish in this post’s comments talking about immigration in Scotland. Maybe we should start by deporting these dog cunt yankees from our sub..?

  19. You know rather than being polarised maybe we can beat this by meeting in the middle.

  20. Everything I’ve seen of the last 20 years is that every single person who is making immigration out to be a bad thing – has turned out to be a nazi or similar flavour of far right billionaire leg-humper.

I would rather swap them all for migrants and refugees.

  21. How many are even Scottish or Glaswegian, hundreds more like bused in from down south topped up with the closest spoons residents

  22. How dare people dislike their country being torn limb from limb, whilst the government ignores the issues that unleashing the floodgates have caused, whilst also rifling a fist firmly up the anus of the citizens of this country!

  23. Apparently pointing out that those coming here from the Middle East and North Africa are even less liberal on gay and women’s rights than Farage himself is a bannable offense adoring to

  24. Most people holding them signs are at uni here ,not even scottish, mostly Americans, Asians.

  25. In order for the Right to succeed, they need the working class on board. The actual social class they are working against but what they do is they tap into the vulnerabilities of the Working Class.

So they pick a vulnerable group in society (immigrants) and use them to blame for the working class issues. Struggling to find a job? Immigrants have taken them. Can’t get a doctor’s appointment? Because we are swamped with immigrants. You can’t get a council house? Because all the immigrants have them. Then the Working Class have someone to blame for their issues instead of looking at a complete lack of funding in essential areas.

What people don’t realise is, once immigrants are dealt with, they start coming after you. So if you are disabled, you’re a benefit cheat. If you can’t find a job, you’re lazy. If you don’t have enough money to pay bills, get a second job, you’re not workin hard enough. The biggest criticism I have of the working class (and I’m pure, unashamed, working class) is we put rich, well spoken people on a pedestal and seem to trust them more because we lack confidence in ourselves

  26. No doubt shipped into Glasgow by train like the weirdo’s in Epping.

  27. The right continue to massively exaggerate the problems associated with immigration. While there are certainly issues to be addressed, treating people in a hostile manner feeds into radicalisation and poor integration. Immigration is a negligible burden on society and yet some treat it as if it’s the only issue; in 2024 uk spending on asylum support was 4.7 billion ([per this article ](https://www.ein.org.uk/news/new-nao-overview-shows-home-office-total-spending-asylum-and-migration-2023-24)) out of 1278 billion, the belief that immigrants suppress wages is contradicted by many sources [e.g.](https://wol.iza.org/uploads/articles/42/pdfs/do-immigrant-workers-depress-the-wages-of-native-workers.pdf). While there are suspicions that certain immigrant groups are disproportionately associated with criminal behaviour, until this year that data is unavailable, however any immigrants convicted for more than 12 months are subject to automatic deportation. In my opinion we need to treat immigrants with respect and dignity, be firm but fair and realise that most of our problems are not due to increased immigration, but wealth distribution and a lack of available public funds to aid people in need.

  28. Pleased to see it. Well Done all who attended…no, not the lefties.

  29. The people coming here now are exactly the people we want to keep out if we want Scotland to remain a progressive, minority-friendly and tolerant society.

Baffles me that people continue to support importing people who hold some of the most violent, misogynistic and intolerant societal views.
