In the ever-watched world of the British royalty, even the smallest gesture can be interpreted as a message. This time, the followers of the crown are putting their attention on an apparently subtle movement, but one that has generated a strong stir in networks: Natasha Archer, former personal assistant and stylist of Kate Middleton, has stopped following Meghan Markle on Instagram.
According to what DefensaCentral has learned, Archer, who worked closely with the Prince and Princess of Wales for 15 years and was a key figure in Kate’s style transformation, has recently adjusted her presence on social media. Just a few days ago, her Instagram account was public for a brief period, which allowed the most attentive to notice significant changes in her following list.
Among the most commented changes, it stands out that she stopped following As Ever, Meghan’s lifestyle brand, as well as several members of the Duchess of Sussex’s inner circle: her trusted makeup artist, Daniel Martin; the businesswoman Delfina Blaquier and the pilates instructor Heather Dorak, among others. Highbrow Hippie, the profile linked to Meghan’s hair colorist, Kadi Lee, has also disappeared from her digital radar.
DefensaCentral has been able to confirm that, while Archer has made an apparent “clean slate” regarding Meghan and her closest environment, she has not cut ties with the entire universe linked to the duchess. The former assistant still follows some of her old friends from Suits, such as Sarah Rafferty and Abigail Spencer, which has led to speculation that her distancing may not be personal, but professional or symbolic.
Archer is also still connected to the heart of the British royal family
She continues to follow the official accounts of King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Princess Eugenie and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice’s husband, which demonstrates her affinity (at least public) with the monarchical institution.
This movement in networks occurs shortly after Archer announced her unexpected departure from Kensington Palace, where she served as William and Kate’s private executive assistant. According to reports, she left her position to found her own consulting company. Her resignation marked the end of an era: she started as a personal assistant in 2010 and, over the years, became a trusted figure for Kate, even helping her define her style as future queen consort.
Archer is married to Chris Jackson, the royal family’s official photographer for Getty Images, and together they have two children.
This movement has been interpreted as a clear sign of the distancing between two worlds that, despite being within the same crown, seem increasingly separated.
