It’s funny for now but this shit is actually dire. The EU will roll out the same bullshit but they’ve given sites a year for now. Twitter already implemented it EU wide because they want to stay ahead of the curve I guess. The worst thing is that it not only affects NFSW shit but everything considered “harmful” to children, hell there’ve been comments from barrys saying they can’t access r/beer or r/scotch without a VPN anymore
And there is no telling if VPNs will be a permanent solution in the future. If they want to do Business in a country they’ve got to comply with the laws, so who’s to say that the goverments don’t just force VPN to close endpoints for EU users in the future unless the user verifies him or herself?
