2. This is what they do. Every single russian on the wrong side of the border is assisting their war efforts.

3. Same thing they did during USSR in Crimea with tatars.(Then they figured out that nothing grows there and handed it over to Ukrainian SSR in exchange for better regions)

6. You’d think the largest country in the world would have somewhere within its own borders to settle its citizens.

7. Well, this will eventually removing them less of an ethical dilemma.

   After WWII the Soviets basically moved Poland half a country to the west and drove out all the Germans who had lived there.

   At the time nobody objected because the world was fresh out of fucks to give over ethnic cleansing of Germans.

   Today this would probably not fly as people would point out that the civilians that were driven out were not the same people who had actively committed atrocities themselves.

   By making it so that many of the Russians living in occupied Ukraine are actually the same people who actively fought in the war, this removes a lot of ethical ambiguity over them being eventually forced to leave.
