1. The 2022 defense of Azovstal was one of the defining battles of Russia’s full-scale invasion — and its consequences still echo today.

   For over 60 days, Ukrainian soldiers held out at the Mariupol steel plant under relentless bombardment. Many did not survive. Those who did — like Bohdan “Puhach” Hrishchenkov — were taken into Russian captivity, where many remain to this day.
