  1. Demanding Hamas disarm is like demanding Israel dismantle the West Bank settlements. It sounds good, it should happen, but most importantly, it obviously isn’t going to happen for at least a few decades (never say never)

There’s two ways this war ends:

    1. Something gives from the Gaza side, meaning a group opposed to Hamas that isn’t the PA grows in influence to the point they become a viable governing force that Israel props them up as a puppet government.

    2. Something gives from the Israeli side meaning elections (27 Oct 2026, try to imagine this continuing for more than a year) or the US forces Israel to end the war. This would be a good option except the US administration’s goal is to end the war as fast as possible without regard to anyone’s wellbeing, and if Netanyahu is given a hard deadline it’s going to be annexation + unilateral ceasefire.

  2. The genocide could have ended more than a year ago if Saudi didn’t offer a land bridge to trade goods with Israel. They may not have actively killed gazans but their actions have led to the murder of what current estimates are 20% of the population in Gaza. They could have exerted pressure on Israel & the US to stop the genocide as well by seeking a coalition of other Arab countries.

Egypt, nothing needs to be said here. The government works for the US.

  3. So whose army will then protect Palestinians from the genocidal invaders seeking to take their land? Do they expect Israel will just stop their ethnic cleansing operation the moment a few dozen hostages are released and a bunch of freedom fighters lay down their arms? If anything that would just expedite the process.

  4. So if someone cares to explain. Israel decimates Hezbollah, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, and probably more than 500 thousand Palestinians, controls Gaza, but …. Hamas, a gang of a few thousand people is still in power? Who needs to keep Hamas alive at this point?
