  1. [Benjamin Netanyahu](https://inews.co.uk/topic/benjamin-netanyahu?ico=in-line_link) is unlikely to cut off the sharing of Israeli intelligence with the UK despite the major diplomatic row over [Keir Starmer’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state](https://inews.co.uk/opinion/starmers-plan-palestine-self-serving-make-believe-3834601?ico=in-line_link), *The i Paper* understands.

In response to [Starmer’s ultimatum over Gaza](https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/uk-plan-aid-trucks-gaza-starmer-allies-new-warning-israel-3834600?ico=in-line_link) on Tuesday, the Israeli prime minister had warned that the UK would be at risk from an emboldened [Hamas](https://inews.co.uk/topic/hamas?ico=in-line_link), writing on X: “A jihadist state on Israel’s border TODAY will threaten Britain TOMORROW. Appeasement towards jihadist terrorists always fails. It will fail you too.”

But Middle East experts said that the security relationship between Britain and Israel was mutually beneficial, and it is unlikely that Netanyahu would want to cut off the supply of intelligence from UK security services over threats from states like [Iran](https://inews.co.uk/topic/iran?ico=in-line_link).

And British government insiders said there was no concern in Downing Street and Whitehall that Israeli intelligence could be withdrawn.

The UK was waiting to see if there would be any concrete response beyond the rhetoric, a source said.

While Israel is not part of the[ “Five Eyes” intelligence-sharing structure ](https://inews.co.uk/news/uk-security-services-concern-over-intelligence-sharing-with-trump-administration-3559414?srsltid=AfmBOorlInji-ed3gnp6RwxOQ3Nq9545wFA-CiumhJAvnxD1AmWHdo7M&ico=in-line_link)London has with allies including the US, its security relationship with Israel is long-standing and Israeli sources have previously pointed out that it has [protected Britons on the streets of the UK from terror attacks](https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/raf-will-still-help-protect-israel-from-iran-as-pressure-grows-on-starmer-over-arms-3263363?srsltid=AfmBOoqfwFl9i4XtT19kj7yhaROrjE8wuyZVHHie3vvqf2tRxuSkb_VD&ico=in-line_link).

Richard Pater, chief executive of Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre (BICOM), said the Netanyahu government would be considering its response to Starmer’s ultimatum to recognise Palestine unless Israel agreed to a series of conditions, including a ceasefire in [Gaza](https://inews.co.uk/topic/gaza?ico=in-line_link).

  2. No, Israel should stop warning Canada, UK and France about terrorist attacks then since they seems to know more about the like of Hamas than its neighbor.

  3. Maybe I’m missing something, but I didn’t see any point Israel threatened to do so
