Scotland: Protester take to the streets to decry Trump’s visit • FRANCE 24 English

From Abedine to Edinburgh, the message from these protesters is clear. Donald Trump is not welcome in Scotland. Holding up banners and signs leveling criticism at the US president, they say the UK is pandering to Trump, whose arrival has sparked the biggest security operation for the UK since Queen Elizabeth’s death in 2022. I’m very much against everything that Trump stands for and um what he’s doing in America. So I want people to know the Americans know that like we’re very much pro them their their democracy. You sometimes wonder if you know um protest works and people listen to it but that’s the only tool that we have uh for democracy and to show our um dislike of Donald Trump basically and what he stands for. The US president is in Scotland as he prepares for the August opening of a golf course bearing his name. He’s spending Saturday playing golf with his entourage, brushing off criticisms that he’s blurring the lines of politics and business. But the trip is not all leisure with high stakes for Europe and the UK. Trump is set to talk trade with British Prime Minister Kier Stalmer and European Commission Chief Ursla Fondelion, both of whom are looking to avert a costly trade war. I’ll be meeting with the EU on uh Sunday and we’ll be working on a deal. We’ll see if we make a deal. Uh Ursula will be here, highly respected woman. That would be actually the biggest deal of them all if we make it. Trump says sticking points still remain with Brussels on the prospects of an EU trade deal. Meanwhile, Downing Street says it hopes to refine the deal struck with Washington in May. I

  5. Rentamob at two locations one in Edinburgh and one in Aberdeen. They were 'protesting' about various things including transgender issues and Gaza. There couldn't have been more than a couple of hundred 'protesters' at each location . The protest in Edinburgh was organised by two foreigners. In this video the first speaker was English. The second speaker talked about democracy – something that is being constantly undermined in the UK. On several occasions, in UK general elections, people have voted against mass immigration and yet politicians have allowed it to continue unabated! So, she obviously has a problem with the meaning democracy. So, it may come as a big letdown for those who dislike/ hate President Trump, the mass protests against President Trump's visit to Scotland that many MSM and YouTube channels have reported just didn't happen.

    Trump's golf resort likely employs more people than showed up to the protest
