  3. I bet there were other smells, a little less nostalgia-inducing, like the night pot, and the hearty aroma of bodies bathed once a week.

  4. This reminds me of my grandma when I was kid- the softest duvet I have ever touched, loud radio in the morning and the smell of scrambled eggs.
    It felt like the place out of time – you can stop and catch a breath. Those photos remind me of this , thanks for sharing.

  8. Oh got I am glad we don’t have to iron linen anymore. Thankful for being able to bake bread in evening and still have it fresh in the morning as well but not having to iron linen it’s the biggest 

  9. nice idealization but mornings probably smelled like shit (litteraly) and nights also probably smelled like shit.

  10. And the scent of smoke in the whole house because people back then didn’t use to build chimneys.
