EXCLUSIVE: Former Gaza Humanitarian Foundation contractor speaks out to FRANCE 24 • FRANCE 24

He wants the world to know what he witnessed in Gaza. Anthony Agalar, a retired US Army Green Beret, worked as a security subcontractor for the US and Israelbacked firm, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. He’s deeply shaken by what he saw. In this exclusive testimony, he reveals untold details about the GHF and its aid delivery plan. Anthony filmed this footage in Gaza. As you can see, we’re about 40 meters from the edge of the food line. I believe that the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is is complicit in war crimes and that they are involved in an enterprise that that is has failed from the beginning. Anthony Agalar was hired by UG Solutions, a security subcontractor for the GHF. There are UG contractors that are in Gaza that are utilizing non-lethal munitions and lethal munitions in unauthorized ways. And people are getting hurt. Palestinians are getting hurt. Since the end of May, the GHF has opened four aid distribution sites. Three south of the Israeli controlled Morag corridor. There are three incidents that are seared into Anony’s mind. One involved a Palestinian woman who was seeking aid. a stung grenade was thrown into the crowd directly next to a Palestinian woman who was um with with the aid box that she had waiting to put her items into a bag so she could leave and a UG Solutions contractor threw a stung grenade that detonated and the metal top of it hit this woman in the head, knocked her unconscious. She was lifeless. She wasn’t moving. She was then loaded onto a donkey cart by the other woman that was with her and moved off of the site. France 24 could not independently verify the identity of this woman or confirm if she was killed. On that day, the Hamas controlled health ministry reported 27 Palestinians were killed close to the Rafa distribution site. On the 29th of May at site number four, Anthony says UG Solutions contractors fired live bullets towards Palestinian civilians. Um, UG contractors opened fire and there was cat calling and um, celebrating it. [Applause] [Music] The bullets were being fired by um, a UG Solutions contractor in the southern tower of site number four, a fully automatic machine gun. He was spraying in bursts. And the second shooter was a UG Solutions contractor who was standing on a burm firing with his individual rifle on fully automatic into the crowd as well. Um what what they characterized as warning shots, but these shots were being fired at the feet, over the heads, and into the crowd of the departing Palestinians. UG Solution says no personnel have ever directed warning shots at civilians, aiming instead upwards, in the air and towards the coastline. They say the contractor heard on video was encouraging IDF fire and has been terminated. There are some faces Anthony will never forget. A young boy, hard to tell what his age was because of the the starvation. Maybe 7 years old. No shoes, tattered clothes, covered in dirt, no no parents or adult supervision or anyone with him. He was alone and he held out his hand. And I called him forward and he held my hand and he kissed my hand. This young boy had nothing to do with what Hamas did on October 7th. as he walked out with this crowd as the UG Solutions contractors were shooting warning shots and throwing stun grenades and tear gas and the Israeli defense forces at the position at the intersection were firing into them. That is the IDF unit, the 143rd Brigade. We had a meeting with them last night and I came up on the burm and I could see Palestinians civilians. You could see their white bags lying on the ground, items spilled. I saw that and I felt that I don’t want to be a part of this. We contacted the IDF. They did not deny the claims, but rather said following incidents in which harm to civilians who arrived at distribution facilities was reported. Thorough examinations were conducted in the southern command and instructions were issued to forces in the field following lessons learned. The incidents are under review by the competent authorities in the IDF. UG Solutions and the GHF deny all allegations made by Anthony Agalar, labeling him a disgruntled former contractor who seeks revenge. Aguilar disputes this, saying that they are liars who are focused on money.

Since late May, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has overseen food aid distribution in the Palestinian enclave. The United Nations accuses the private US company of militarising aid operations. For the first time, a former GHF employee speaks out openly, accusing his former employer of involvement in war crimes.

  2. GHF spokesperson Chapin Fay claimed that Aguilar had not resigned and had been "terminated for misconduct" by security firm UG Solutions, after which he had threatened retribution against his former employer.

  4. This is war—sad, but not unusual. Every country protects its own first. After years of threats, strong reactions from Israelis are expected. It’s not black and white.

  7. I truly appreciate that he is speaking up. He is a man of morals and good character. May God bless him.
    Most families are not receiving any food assistance. It is not only too dangerous and chaotic to approach the trucks with little chance of obtaining anything, but also too far for many to walk to and bring back supplies in the heat.
    The IDF is also collaborating with what families call 'bandits' to intercept and steal aid, which is then sold to merchants at inflated prices for kickbacks. The merchants subsequently raise the prices even further. A kilogram of flour costs one hundred dollars, which most people cannot afford, if it is even available at all.
    What is needed is for aid trucks to be escorted to a secure distribution center where the supplies can be organized and distributed fairly and broadly. This task should be undertaken by an independent third party, and the UN possesses the experience and resources to accomplish this.

The parachute drops will not be enough to eradicate the famine and are dangerous for the lives of those waiting for aid: if they fall on them, they will injure those in the tents, and if they fall in areas where the occupiers are present, they will shoot them down with all malice and brutality…
    Open the crossing points, let the lorries in and let the humanitarian and relief organisations take care of the distribution. This is systematic and deliberate starvation. There are 6,000 lorries waiting outside the crossing point, people are starving and hospitals have no medicines. International laws are being violated, and this does not bode well for humanity.

  36. This man was fired by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and he vowed retribution. GHF has evidence of his approval of their operation and it wasn't until after he was fired that he turned against them. If GHF is so bad then why did he want his job back.

  39. Can we stop calling it the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation? Let's call it what it is. A paramilitary source of support to the IDF. It's the US providing direct military support without having to actually send military.
