This was so good. Got the chicken with spuds (£11) and the jollof with veg (£6.50). Big on big flavours, lots of garlic, ginger, and other stuff I can't put my finger on. Fed 2 with delicious leftovers.
No seating at the Saturday Forest Gate location so we took it home. He's in Stratford during the week (I think at that outdoor market on Broadway).

Ok, just because this has happened in London, how’s this relevant to /r/london ?
r/londonfood will appreciate this!

I actually like the plates… great looking food as well 😉
😍😍 gimme gimme

Genuinely have no idea what’s wrong about the plating, would smash that if it was handed to me.

ooh might have to try and get there and back on a lunch break. Think I could make it there in 10 minutes. Not sure why I haven’t realised that street market is an option for me before (possibly because it’s a bit awkward to get there as I have to cross things like the river / canal / rail lines a few times) but I feel inspired to try now.
That looks really good. I shoulda got that.
Had Dembo’s amazing rotisserie chicken three times now, it is delicious. Make sure to get there early as he often sells out, no surprises as to why.
Can get some more awesome rotisserie chicken in Finsbury Park too, if ever down that way.
Check out James Dimitri on IG if you can. He’s a food reviewer that’s been looking for the best rotisserie chicken in London. [https://www.instagram.com/jamesdimitri](https://www.instagram.com/jamesdimitri)
had a set of these plates when i was growing up:,) got me all nostalgic
I walk past this often. A while back I looked up the food hygiene rating and it wasn’t great (rating of 2), which put me off. But looking at the pictures, I am tempted.
I’ma have to try that, as I’m a 5 min walk away from FG station
Thanks for sharing! I wanted to try this a year ago but it appeared it had closed down. Nice to see he’s back at Forest Gate, shall try it next week.
Can I just ask, where exactly is the stall in Forest Gate?
Looks worth a try
This is round the corner from me and still haven’t tried it. For shame. Will try this week
