More than 1100 kilometers of railway cross the Republic of Moldova, connecting localities, facilitating the mobility of citizens and supporting the national economy. On Railways Day, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development sends a message of appreciation to all those who contribute to the smooth functioning of the railway system: mechanics, technicians, dispatchers and maintenance teams.
“The railway system is currently undergoing a major transformation: we are modernizing the infrastructure, renewing the rolling stock, strengthening institutional capacities and restoring confidence in a strategic sector for the country’s economy”, the message quoted by IPN.
The ministry expresses its appreciation for the dedication and professionalism of railway workers and their courage to carry on “a profession with tradition and future”.
Railway Day in Moldova is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday in August.
