I’d consider myself a leftie, I say this so you understand where my leanings are as I make my opinion. I think it horrendous what is happening in our country with regards to the violence. Government are saying so little, if anything. Attacks on Gardaí is attack on our law and order, what is meant to be the fabric of our society and it’s crickets
Eastern European man was the perpetrator. Hot on the heels of our Allah Akhbar friend from earlier this week. Remember, it is totally racist to question any of this, so best just accept it.

Getting more and more like London every week
Give the Gardai guns. Have Gards with sub machine guns walking the streets like every other Western European country. Policing the country like it’s the 1950s won’t work anymore. The Guardia Civil in Spain will knock the shite out of hoodrats if they are out of line. We have the ability to make our own laws, rules, and standards, it’s time to actually do it.
Always impressive how quickly articles like this get flooded with a mix of “if we say something we’ll just get branded racist” and _actual_ racist comments.
Not just the common racist things either, but esoteric ones too. It only took a handful of comments before someone claimed the attacker _can’t_ be Irish because Irish people don’t know how to “wield” swords. Like we’re importing medieval knights.
Meanwhile people who actually want to and are capable of making relevant comments about immigration without veering into weird racism are (kinda ironically) a minority.
