Australian shares are likely to open lower on Monday due to possible declines in miners and energy stocks, while investors maintained caution post dozens of tariffs imposed on trading partners and a weak jobs report from the U.S.
The local share price index futures (YAPcm1) fell 0.4%, a 75-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index XJO close. The benchmark fell 0.9% on Friday.
New Zealand’s benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index NZ50G was down 0.1% in early trade.
