The South Korean military has begun to remove the loudspeaker from North Korea. It has been 53 days since the loudspeaker broadcast to North Korea was stopped at the direction of President Lee Jae-myung on June 11.

The Ministry of National Defense said in a text message on the 4th, “Our military began removing the loudspeaker from North Korea on this day.”

The Ministry of National Defense explained, “This is to implement practical measures to help ease tensions between the two Koreas to the extent that it does not affect the military’s preparedness.”
