Ahead of a potential selection as the Czech Republic’s official submission to the 2026 Academy Awards, Broken Voices stirred some controversy last week for its parallels to the real-life sex abuse scandal that it was inspired by.
If you haven’t yet caught up with it, the film is still screening with English subtitles at Prague cinemas including Edison Filmhub and Kino Světozor. The Prague Reporter calls Broken Voices “a chilling reminder of how easily abuse can remain hidden in plain sight, especially when it hides behind trust.”
