After Storm Arwen and having no electricity or water for nearly two weeks I'm taking no chances. Have petrol for the generator, beans, bacon, pot noodles, crisps and general munch.
At least it is summer I suppose.

Probably be grand, where I am anyway lol. The north coast here in NI might get it worse, but I’m in Tyrone
Hatches are battened down, a plentiful supply of tea and biscuits, washing off the line this evening, should be reet
It’ll be good for the garden.
Scotland I’m guessing?
Wirral here, preparing by doing absolutely fuck all. Looks like it might get a wee bit gusty out towards the Irish Sea, but nothing to worry about here.
And the track I’m personally *loving* too – if the models are correct (zero guarantees) this is going to pull a nice prolonged period of blocking high pressure in, so the rest of August should be booming.
I’m a little sad we aren’t getting some of it here in coastal Suffolk… I love a good storm.
What type of crisps?
Looks like it’s gonna miss England, Ireland and Scotland look like they’re in for a ride.

Arwen I stocked up on fire wood in case we had no power but all was fine here in the end.
Not super concerned about that as I don’t need heating in this weather.
What are ye gon’ do? Call the floris? Mate, we are the floris.
Might shut a window
Bring it, Floris ya fud!
Absolute shit show. My wife is meant to be going to Edinburgh tomorrow morning on the train and everything is cancelled. Spent the last two hours helping her rearrange everything!
Im flying to Norway tommorow 🫠
I’m on holiday further north for the next few days…and I’m still too south for this storm.
Winds picking up a bit on me washing has gone for a Burton on the garden this afternoon
Fortunately that’s the extent of it going by the maps I think we’ll just get a bit of rain.
Love good storm as well
West Country here looking upwards with a sly smile
Should be reyt in South Yorkshire.
Fortunately don’t think it’s coming my way but I’ve taken my smalls off the washing line, just in case. Wouldn’t want them flying in the neighbour’s face!
Council still hasn’t addressed the issue with my missing lid on my blue bin so my recycling will be all over the street again.
Quick, to Asda to bulk buy rice and toilet roll like it’s 2020 again
I’m ready for the inevitable power cut. We lose our water when the power is out because it’s pumped up from the well by an electric pump. One day we’ll get a new generator as the old one is a bit knackered and doesn’t really work.
I’ve filled garden trugs with water to flush the loos and filled up my stove top kettle. Bottles of water are ready to go. Next job is getting the storm box out containing the camping gas stoves. We’ve got three wood burners, one of which is a cooking range but it’s too warm to use them at the moment. Great in winter power cuts though!
Power banks, torches and camping lamps are charged.
Lessons were learnt in the week we were without power during Arwen.
Miles ahead of you. Moved South 30 odd years ago just to avoid this.
Working outside will be fun
I’m in Surrey, I think we’re getting the edge of it
I’m in the Amber warning bit. I am not looking forward to it. We have lots of trees in full leaf round us, and I’ve not long had major surgery. Shitey timing.
I’m in South Wales so the most we’re getting is some 40mph gusts, but I’m actually quite concerned about the impact this might have.
Unlike a winter storm this is going to be hitting trees full of leaves, the damage could be extensive.
I was born ready
Just getting the kite surf gear sorted….
I’ve built a kind of fort around my 2 tomato plants to try stop them getting ripped to shreds. I bought them for 50p each in March and I have lovingly tended the fuckers every single day since and JUST as they start to turn red there’s a storm??? NUH UH!
I’m in Leeds and it’s pretty windy right now.
Contenders! You will go on my first whistle!
Floris! You will go on my second whistle!
The wheelie bins have been moved to the sheltered part of the garden.
Ahh, it’ll be a breeze
