The Italian mafia of the XXI century

  1. Amateurs.

The Senegalese Scammers in Paris 15 years ago were already able to triple-knot tie a bracelet on your wrist in the 2 milliseconds you got distracted.

It’s so embarassing to see them resort to these cheap tricks instead of pure skill.

  2. I prefer not to speak. If I speak I am in big trouble

  3. I mean, you should have known that in Italy we take the food thing seriously… if you don’t give me money to eat i throw rocks at you

  4. Had a bracelet ‘gift’ given in ’04 in Milan when we went there for a school trip. Luckily one of my friends is half Italian and could explain everything to the 2 carabinieri. Never have I seen a person run so quickly when the 2 carabinieri wanted to ‘talk’ to him.

  5. ”What an idiot, engaging with an apparently friendly person in a touristy place.”

    – any person living in a big european city

  6. I don’t understand why the police aren’t doing shit about that, it’s sickening.

  7. Fuck those scammers, but that ‘vlogger’ is known to make what is basically racist dog whistling videos and hiding under the guise of “unfiltered journalism”.

  8. They acted as they owned the place, even if they’re nothing but unwelcome guests.

  9. This is nothing. Wait ’till you find the real professionals: the gypsies.

  10. My gambian brother Ulundu in Milan gave me one and my no was so rotound he left in shock. Free bracelet

  11. Come on, you’re not going to run from a 1.50m Indian street seller. Plus that there are a million policemen in these super touristic places. You’re now just turning it into a game.

Also, what I really don’t get, but maybe you can shine your light on this Luigi and Pierre. When you catch these guys (shouldn’t be too difficult I would assume given how visible they are on the streets), and they don’t have the right to stay in your country – why don’t you just put them on an aeroplane home? I don’t see the issue. We do that with thousands of people without a valid residence permit every year.

  12. Wild suggestion! They bribe the police so they can run the business. I might be wrong though.

  13. the italians dressed as gladiators to take overpriced pics with tourists there need to fight them

  14. Naive people, especially Ameritards, think Europeans from big cities are rude in public for no reason.

No, **that** is the reason why we will give you a stern no the second you start talking to us like we went to the same school or something

  15. I have been to a lot of sketchy places in the world, but I’ve never been more a target of scammers or robbers than in European big cities. Specially if I have to walk around with a big backpack.

Worst was Paris. African guys trying to tie their bracelets to my arm, a gypsy woman puting her coin cup just as I passed by so i would kick it, someone trying to pickpocket me in the metro, a rat stealing my potato which just fell to the floor…

  16. When I went to Los A*geles we went to the Walk of Fame and I think I was taking more pics than usual because my friends went ahead, a guy approached me with CDs asking me where I’m from, what my name is, and so on, he started writing my name on his CD and that’s when I knew I fucked up, he wanted me to give him a bit of money in exchange for his mixtape (on the CD)and fortunately I only had some coins in my pocket, and I guess I thought $2 worth of coins were enough for him to leave me alone but he was a bit pushy and then one of my new friend noticed, she came back for me, took me by the arm and we left, she was Belgian, that was in 2016.
Now when I travel I put on my invisible French superiority hat, ready to be rude at the slightest inconvenience.

  17. I had exactly the same stupid bracelet scam outside the Vatican maybe 10 years ago. Was with my wife and kids (kids were about 9 and 12 at the time).
I am such a chatty Barry that after about 10 minutes of me asking him about his family, grumbling about the weather back in the UK, asking him about African football etc he gave up trying to get money and left me with the bracelet…

  18. Fucking assholes. Like you own the fucking place. Motherfuckers should be beaten.

  19. We had the exact same situation in Greece. Guy was making bracelets for tourists as gift because he wants so show colours of his country (some African country) and later harassing for money.

  20. It’s so sad this never works on me, _this is a gift friend, take it_, _we take gifts very seriously in Sicily mbare_ and then they leave 😞.

    Racist.

  21. Funny how these fing videos can make you scared. I’ve been there twice, nothing remotely scary happened, the Africans minded themselves unless you approached. But watching this makes me scared to visit again 😂 just have to remind myself that this isn’t what it’s usually like down there…

  22. “Mafia”… They do look like nonna in a bad mood.

  23. Had a scammer do the bracelet trick to me and a buddy in Florence back in 2020. He tied the knot so well that he couldnt get it off when we refused to pay, so he got annoyed and walked off

  24. The vlogger is a confrontational, racist, ignorant douchebag (also from his other videos), but he’s got a point.

Motherfuckers think they own the place, I was yelled at by an old guy in Montmartre just because I was taking a picture and he happened to be in it.

  25. Me and my dad would always joke that the guy was following us because he did the same stuff in every Italian city. A little bracelet and a turtle/elephant nicknack, and then he went in on the ‘You give me money for my daughter?’ shit.

  26. It happened in Florence, a woman with a baby on her back came to me and I directly said “No no, no thank you….” but she insisted, said it was a gift and I said “Ok but a gift, I won’t pay”. She said ok ok, then she told me where I was from etc… then as she pretended to leave she said “Weeeell I have a baby… could you give me some money pls 🙁 ” and I still didn’t hesitate, I said “No, I won’t give anything, take the bracelet if you want”. But she didn’t want to, I almost throw it at her or to the floor as we both insisted. But she just left angry and I kept the bracelet.

I won a free shitty bracelet but it still ruins your time in a wonderful place.

  27. They do the same crap at the eifel tower. I read up about it and told the guy to fuck off. He did not take it friendly. I hope there is a special place in hell for these scammer assholes.

  28. I remember going to Rome 2 years ago and being shocked by this, there wasnt a single day i went out during my 1 week visit that i wasn’t follow by these guys trying to scam you.

Colosseum was horrible but i remember specifically going to the Trevi Fountain at night and seeing hordes of blacks surrounding chinese tourists, i don’t understand how any of this is acceptable

  29. *record scratch*

    *freeze frame*

Yep, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here.

  30. Hear me out. Just pay them 5€ and keep the bracelet. It then becomes like the ones you get in resorts. I kept mine and I would show them the bracelet. It’s just easier than dealing with them every five steps.

BTW, it’s crazy their language capabilities. The one who approached us spoke Spanish very well.

Anyway, fuck these scammers and the “other” ones near the coliseum, you’ll know who they are when you “kindly” see them and they “kindly” approach you.
