  1. Aren’t convinced felons in the US banned from entering Ireland anyway?

  2. Not liking the man is perfectly normal but the irrational fear some people have of him is insane.

I’ve a colleague who said he won’t travel to the US for holiday ‘because Trump’

When I asked what that means he couldn’t give a cogent argument as to why, not even about being refused at the border, just ‘because trump’

  3. If we ignore the involvement in the Epstein files & genocide in Gaza.

He is a straight up liar demonstrating fascist ideology. ICE is an example of the gestapo. He has no morales except self interest. The White House spokes person talks to the press like they are idiots. It feels like they aren’t even trying to hide their mistakes anymore.

But we are enslaved to the American economy, no matter how many people don’t want him to come our leaders will invite him with open arms.

  4. Does that majority know the Irish government don’t give a fuck what they want?

  5. “Majority” is understating it somewhat – there are few issues where 74% agree

  6. Why would any sane country want to fork out public money for this cretin. If he comes he’ll get booed all the way home

  7. Mon ahead then….let’s egg the convoy everywhere it goes

  8. There’s no upside to Ireland from having him visit us. The risk is huge: some teenager might huck a rock in his direction, and then revenge against Ireland in general would become the latest obsession of Trump’s idiot supporters.

  9. Perhaps this poll is conveying the feelings of Irish people towards what Trump represents as a human being but a state visit by sitting US president represents more than just individuality.

As another redditor said, we, as an economy (jobs, exports, tourism) are enslaved to the American economy. So if the government refused a visit by the elected representative of the USA to visit Ireland, it would be a poor decision. Trump is erratic as we all know, he takes things very personally. Trump could post on his social media platform “Ireland is a bad country, don’t travel there” and tourism would drop overnight. US employers based here would become concerned about the anti American stance. And for what, some moral high ground protesting the actions of an individual (he cheats at golf, abuses power (like that’s never happened by our own elected officials), has been implicated in the Epstein files (implicated)).

So of course, the government will welcome him with open arms, put on a big show as what he represents (the American economy, the Irish economy) means more to us than what the individual represents.

  10. Trump has support all across Europe 🇺🇸 . He speaks a lot of facts . Trump > it isn’t a immigration issue . It’s an invasion . Christ is King 🇮🇪 4 ✝️

  11. He’s a fucking dope.

Then again lots of dopes come here.

I suppose none of them have the power he has though.

He’s a super charged fucking dope. And yeah I don’t want him to come.

But I can’t stop him. Seems like it’ll happen whether we like it or not.

  12. Let him visit. Keep asking him about Epstein at every given opportunity. He’ll never fucking come back.

  13. Refuse to pay for Doonbeg as the place to sleep.. Refuse to pay for long traffic convoys of US Secret Service to and from Doonbeg.

The Orange Muppet will try to come over, try to force his staying in “his” property in Doonbeg, will try to force Ireland to pay for his security in the not-fit-for-purpose Doonbeg facilities and his security for transport to and from the golf course.

If the prick does get his demands, I hope there’s a full-on Atlantic storm for his duration so that the cunt can’t go golfing especially on the Irish dime.

The beach at Doonbeg is public land, can’t be stopped from landing there or using the ancient right of way through the golf course to access the beach.

  14. They showed a photo of one group of Scottish people on the side of the road waving Trump flags and broadcast how universally loved he was in Scotland. Expect the same fabrication of events should he come here.

  15. Big orange paedo whose brain has turned to soup, we’ve enough of them here in the North without adding a yank one.

  16. Let him land in Dublin airport like any other plane. Make him use a gangway and queue up at immigration like everyone else. We shouldn’t waste a penny on this prick.

  17. They’ll mollycoddle him in Doolin, unfortunately, because of the jobs he’s providing.

  18. Not sure why I would allow taxes to be spent showing an Adjudicated Rapist around the country. Just a thought

  19. Ugh. I’m American with an Irish daughter and a Spanish wife. We just moved back to Ireland because of this orange f***. I can’t believe there are as many Irish that are ok with him coming here. I will never forgive my countrymen for forcing this PoS and his gang onto the rest of the world.

  20. Ironically, the people who DO want him to visit are the same ones who are always screaming about foreign rapists entering the country…

  21. You mean our Taioseach having to visit HIM in HIS golf resort as he won’t come to Dublin and thinks the best hotel in the world is his of whichever country he happens to be in that that time

  22. State visit to Venus? That I could get behind. Hell I’d even donate to his gofundme

  23. Ireland should of course let him visit, people are immature to say otherwise. He’s the president of the United States ffs, potentially Irelands’s best economic relationship.

  24. Fuck off he’s not coming here now is he
    I mean. Why? Ah feck.
