Cyprus has confirmed its intention to participate in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Austria.
Cypriot broadcaster CyBC confirmed to ESCToday that they will be taking part in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. It is yet unknown how the country will select its 2026 representative. More information about the selection will be released in due course. The last time Cyprus used a national final was in 2015, with John Karayiannis representing the country in Austria with “One Thing I Should Have Done”, finishing 22nd in the Grand Final.
A total of 19 countries have publicly expressed their interest in competing in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest so far:

Broadcasters have until mid-October to confirm their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which will be the 70th edition of the contest.
Theo Evan represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song “Shh”. He finished 11th in the first semi-final with 44 points, failing to qualify for the final.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result was in 2018, when Eleni Foureira and the song “Fuego” finished second with 436 points. Before then, their best results in the contest came in the form of three fifth-place finishes. These fifth-place finishes were Anna Vissi with “Mono i agapi” in 1982, Hara & Andreas Constantinou with “Mana mou” in 1997 and Lisa Andreas with “Stronger Every Minute” in 2004. Cyprus currently holds the record for the most participations in Eurovision without a win.
