  1. Can I ask in that case why we bother having a set age of consent?

  2. UK Pornography Taskforce?

“Oi! You got a licence for that wank mate”

  3. >Lady Bertin

Great this movement is being helmed by bluebloods. So we’re having our freedoms restricted by a fucking Baroness.

  4. Maybe, just maybe, pornography is more addictive than we give credit and some level of legislation is necessary. I have female friends that talk about dudes trying to choke them the first time they sleep together.

  5. Mary Whitehouse would be so proud of the UK today /s but she would :/

  6. “we’re not trying to ban porn” the government says while adding restrictions on common kinks being filmed, the requiring you to hand over your face or ID to view it, and now setting up a taskforce for it.

Hmmm. I think they might be trying to ban porn…

  7. If we’re now banning stuff thats technically legal but seems a bit shady, can we also go after off shore tax havens?

    No?

Boy, I wonder why that could possibly be.

  8. Pornography is extremely addictive and young people viewing it can cause major issues for them. Once certain parts of thoughts and perceptions are fused so to speak it becomes very difficult to change said thoughts. When young people are getting the wrong idea about sex and what is considered safe/normal you are opening the door to all sorts of issues. I just don’t understand the fear of content restrictions based on age. It’s not Draconian or an over step of power, it is for the safety of our future generations and so many people are just losing it over an inconvenience. People need to realise that content out there that is still legal can be extremely damaging to individuals, porn addiction warps the mind and is no laughing matter. If the banning of “barely legal” legal content is going to increase online safety then it’s a good thing. I was groomed online during my teens because I found myself on sites that children shouldn’t be on… That exposed me to dangerous individuals. If restrictions existed then I would in all likelihood not come across such vile people. It’s taken me two decades to recover including dealing with porn, sex and drug addictions. So I don’t care about your inconvenience, because age restriction will keep the youth safer. I would in my opinion make the legislation stronger.

  9. There’s no such thing as “barely legal”, it’s either legal or it isn’t, it’s not a grey area.

  10. A: She is disgusting

B: Why do we even give her air time to start with, I don’t even watch her porn, she grosses me out to much

C: Holy shit, we are literally going towards 1984, soon it’ll be required for us to have TV’s always online, so they can watch us through the cameras.

  11. Well thank goodness that the government is focusing on the real issues, like 18 year olds in porn rather than… immigration, education, the NHS, roads, transport, businesses on the brink, knife crime, poor digital literacy, financial scams and inflation. Yes, legal teenagers posting videos of fucking is frankly the issue of our time.

  12. Our economy is flattened, we appear to have no control over our borders, some neo nazis are 4 years away from taking power, and the world is in a climate disaster. But yeah, it’s the 19 year olds in porn videos that we should be focused on banning because it makes a 70 year old toff feel icky.

  13. Jesus Christ, there’s so much we could put our money towards and instead they put it towards this shite.

Who asked for a pornography task force?

  14. They’ll just rename the videos to step barely legal.

  15. There is a bigger issue in the pipeline, AI porn which in a couple of years will replace real content as you will be able to generate anything you want from a text prompt which is going to be interesting, for example you wanna watch 2 girls wearing school uniforms, totally legal and can be found on any major adult site but what happens when the AI model returns something that doesn’t look 18 ? Then we also have the issue of people mixing real content such as faces and voices from socials and inserted into the creation and within minutes you have your personalised video. This is already happening with deepfakes but it’s about to get such much worse and unstoppable.

  16. 16-year-olds can vote. But porn with 20-year-olds has to be banned.

  17. So the task force needed to watch a TV show before deciding what todo.

What next? The Chancellor will make new laws after watching deal or no deal?

Maybe the housing minister will watch homes under the hammer?

Ooooh what about the Health minister watching 24hours in A&E or maybe Greys Anatomy for ideas.

Irregardless of issues around the rather iffy tirled ‘barely legal’ stuff, the fact this is coming after watching a show doesn’t exactly speak to the quality of the people in the task force.

  18. Porn ban aside this “documentary” was bad taste and basically a plug for her OnlyFans the damage is done.

  19. The comments on this thread are giving me the ick. “Barely legal” might will be legal, but am I the only one who sees how creepy this is? Wanting people in porn to look so young that they’re “barely legal” is weird as hell.

  20. I expect feminists to take to the streets in full force over this.

  21. So if you want something done by the government, make a tv/netflix show about it.

  22. How long before we go the Australian route and declare that flat chested women = child pornography?

What’s with all the fucking moral panicking lately? Let adults be adults, if they want to have fucked up fantasies, let them. You’re not going to erase the fantasy by making it illegal.

  23. So they will ban porn involving 18 year olds because it’s the youngest legal age for porn. Presumably the next step in a year or two is to ban porn involving 19 year olds, for the same reason
    And so on…

  24. Assuming it’s real and just cannot be stopped

I don’t mind joining the task force busting doors open and saying “oi you got an license to have an wank there”

Sounds like an dream job you could only find in starmers Britain

  25. Is there any mechanism by which the general population can give a vote of no confidence in the sitting government and force a general election?

    I’m sick of this shit.

What next? Do they increase the age to star in porn to 21? But then 21 becomes “barely legal” so what do they do then?

    Where does it end?

  26. So how does this relate to having self-knowledge to the video for Hit Me Baby One More Time? Asking for a friend.

  27. Id be interested who is in this taskforce. If it was in the USA it’d be a bunch of weird evangelical cult christians – wonder if similar oddballs are running the “Big Brother is Watching You Have a Chug” gang

Also barely legal makes no sense, it is legal eh?

  28. Worth looking at Gabby Bertins Wikipedia page – took £25k from pfizer during covid for doing nothing (we can assume unlikely to have spent the time wanking at least); private school; Tory to House of Lords

Whats she doing on some mad weird taskforce? And who is paying her? We need a non BBC watchdog going on here.

  29. If I have my dick pics on my phone that I sent to my ex when I was 18, does that mean I’m suddenly in possession of CP?

  30. This will change nothing. Porn producers will just change what they call it. An 18 year old is still 18.

  31. I believe this happens under liberal parties because they see themselves as the good party, the moral party, but they’re not actually willing to upset anyone on the big issues and spend any money, so they cling onto nonsense like this so that they can tell themselves they’re the good guys.
