  1. A complicated issue. Is it all just media led paranoia or are people in Britain starting to see the real impact through their own eyes when they are out and about.

    Who do they ask? I don’t know anyone that’s ever been polled for this questions, nor do I think they ask under 18s (about 20% of the population) so how do they make a claim like this?

    It should read “half the small amount of people asked for this survey…”

  6. Well obviously we’ve only voted for it the past 20 years. Will Labour listen? No.

  8. Remember we’ve been voting against having this done to us for 30+ years, and they still flooded us with unmanageable numbers.

    The little rubber boats are just a distraction. We didn’t become a minority in our major cities because of boat men. It’s because our politicians failed to manage legal immigration properly.

    In other countries I’ve lived foreign nationals are not permitted to own more than 50% of any domestic property. They’re required to pay their own medical insurance and prove they have financial means to support themselves. I’ve gone through the same thing myself while living abroad.

    Successive governments have failed for decades to fix this mess.

  10. Putting a stop to illegal immigration across the Channel sure, but the UK needs legal immigration otherwise our economy would quite literally collapse.

    We have an aging population with a larger and larger percentage of the population being retired every year. We need workers to fill gaps in multiple industries to keep the wheels turning.

    To blanket ban all immigration is extremely stupid.

  11. It’s the boats! Or you can read the article and realize it isn’t the boats, 96% of immigrants arriving in the UK are legal.

To summarise – the poll showed the headline the the study also showed there is a massive amount of misunderstanding about immigration – largely that people felt that illegal immigration numbers were far higher than reality, and that small boat numbers a far smaller proportion of illegal immigrants in reality

  14. Still amazes me that the obvious route is to go the Australian route and simply take away the incentives and benefits to get to the UK.

    All the time those incentives and benefits are in place then nothing will change, apart from people associated with those in power making millions from this ‘problem’.

  16. Prepare yourself brave Brits to look after your own elderly parents, for it is the patriotic thing to do! Give up your career so that you can wipe the shit from your dad’s arse, and clean your mum when you come home from shopping, open the door and smell that familiar urine smell.

    They might even make the men have to do caring! Can you imagine?

    Remember to check them four times a day for pressure sores. Try to encourage them to eat.

    All for the princely wage of £83.30 carers allowance a week (if you can prove you spend at least 35 hours a week stopping mum from hurting herself in her dementia, and as long as the government doesn’t cut carers allowance as there is no ‘money in the bank’ and a wealth tax would mean you won’t get that tasty, tasty trickle down that you’ve been waiting for since the 80’s).

    Then send your children out to either gather fruit in the baking sun of the brave new climate change world, or onto a modified e-bike to deliver it to the rich who can still afford takeaways.

    Or maybe you are lucky, and your parents still work because the pension age has shot up because there are no youths we can exploit in order to pay for it.

    But be careful! There won’t be any doctors or nurses, or physios or radiographers or… anyone around to help you if you slip while getting sad off the toilet.

    Perhaps you’d like to take advantage of the ‘right to die’? Just remember to have your home snapped up by an offshore land lording agency.

    And if you feel sad, or upset, just remember what the billionaires told you – it’s all the fault of those brown people in the funny clothes. Definitely not the fault of the outlaw mega-rich extracting the last dregs of your wealth into their portfolios.

  18. Australia’s Turn back policy then Operation Sovereign Borders since 2013 is attractive.

    Australia marine patrols the water and turns back any boats or direct them to 3rd country. It refuse to process any illegal arrivals by boat. Migrants knowing they will never get processed, can never stay just stopped trying to enter Australia.

    If you tell people there’s no future to enter & will be sent to Rwanda, they won’t risk life and 5K£/10K£ to enter.
