  1. More sectors of the Indian economy need to be placed under sanctions to bring India into line, it’s increasingly acting like a rogue state.

  2. Ajay Srivastava, founder of the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI), said the components may have been diverted by foreign buyers to Iran through third countries. “India strictly prohibits the export of dual-use items to sanctioned destinations. However, once such goods are exported to legitimate third countries, tracing their end use becomes nearly impossible – a challenge every open economy faces,” he said.

  3. I implore people to read the article. The drones are Shahed-136 UCAVs. The Indian-made parts they are referring to are a bridge rectifier (a normal component which converts AC to DC current) and a signal generator. Both of them were not designed for military applications, just civilian exports of electronic equipment.

Edit: To add more context from my other comments

India doesn’t permit direct export of dual-use components to sanctioned countries (Russia included). Neither of these companies have exported to Russia. Only possible way for this to happen is through diversion of parts through a middle country.

  4. India will do what’s best for India, including pursuing Russian imperial interests as a way of revenge for the US for helping Pakistan in the past, but it’s best to pretend that isn’t a factor

  5. Obviously not a collective propaganda from the west to pressure India right?

how convenient all these “reports” and pressure tactics are coming all at once towards India.

  6. > A “bridge rectifier E300359” of Vishay Intertechnology assembled in India was used in the Shahed’s voltage regulator unit, while a PLL-based signal generator AU5426A chip made by Aura Semiconductor was used in the jammer-proof antenna for the drone’s satellite navigation system, according to the documents.

Yea. This kind of dual use commoditized stuff is never going to be meaningfully restricted. I imagine that trying to use as many dual use components as possible was an explicit design criteria for Iran.

  7. I really hope Ukraine would stop doing this, blaming China and then blaming India. China and India are doing nothing more than trading normally with Russia. It’s your war, not theirs. Deal with it. Get over it.

  8. Similar thinga have happened with israeli components to iran.

  9. I don’t get it, why can’t the west go cold turkey on the trade with Russia ?

Well if they cannot, why pressure India (an ally of both, developing populous nation, closer than US geographically).

While the US & EU actively trades with Russia, they school India on what grounds again?

This while the Iranian, Syrian & Gaza blood is still fresh on their hands, hypocritical melodrama at its finest.

  10. Wow, this is some cheap propaganda if not put into context. Context like:

All reports less than 1 year old. It’s understandable that Ukraine tries to prevent this from happening, but putting such a headline in between the other stuff aimed at India without this context makes it propaganda. (yes, this is an Indian source, but it’s reported without context on e.g. [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2025/aug/05/ukraine-russia-zelenskyy-putin-eu-us-tariffs-europe-latest-news-updates) as well)

  11. I find that Ukraine is still kind of lacking action against countries where such parts are made. They haven’t sanctioned China or India yet, only Russia.

  12. Ukraine supplies whole ass tanks to Pakistan lol
