Trump plans to “take over” Gaza aid effort, U.S. officials say

1. Submission statement: The US has secured isreali agreement to take over aid distribution in Gaza. Trump is seeking additional funding from partner countries and doesnt want to actively get involved in the fighting. The representatives of the us government spoken to say that trump wants to dramatically increase aid volumes and thinks the united states is the only power capable of achieving that. Isreal has already agreed to the plan.

2. Imo: the us definitely has the experience and reach to supply 2 million people with food in a war zone. If this goes through however I am going to be watching signs of trump building infrastructure to stick around long term. Netanyahu has already offered him the territory as part of a post war reconstruction deal. And while that would be an improvement on the status quo it wouldn’t be ideal for the people of Gaza. I will be watching this closely to see just how imperial trump is looking to be.

3. Damn, Bibi. Did he really manage to fob off responsibility for the colossally incompetent and politically toxic GHF aid distribution onto the Americans? Onto Trump, who never in his life agreed to a deal that wasn’t well in his favor and preferably with a free private jet thrown in. How is anyone *that* good at negotiating?

4. I have said this before but one of the better outcomes here would be the US just to occupy Gaza.

   But I feel skeptical this aid plan is going to go through, it’s not clear that Trump even has any experts left outside the us armed forces to run it with all his firings and Netanyahu’s moronic and pointless idea of expanding the war might make near impossible to implement.

6. This reminds me of Trump’s take in 2016 about how easy it would be to replace Obamacare, then him lamenting that ‘nobody knew how hard healthcare was’ when all his plans turned into failures.

   Trump is going to make the Bush attempt to rebuild Iraq look positively competent.

7. Good. Time to put your money where your mouth is. If he actually manages to not fumble this I’ll give him flowers.
