Monday is generally considered to be the first day of the week here in most circumstances
Alright wtf Joao. Explain yourself.
That’s just delusional bro
It is because you are godless heathens.
Mark 16:9 says that Jesus rose on the first day of the week, which was Easter Sunday. Therefore Sunday is the first day of the week. As ever, Barry and João are bastions of piety and holiness against idolators.
Americans in disguise!
We follow the Bible not ISO 8601.
But it isn’t
Are we all looking forward to the weekends?
This is my opinion…
Sunday technically is the start of the week because it’s one of the ends of said week making up what we call the weekend.
However Monday is the standard start of the work week
So both is correct.
In Israel it’s also Sunday.
Why do you call it weekend when it’s your weekbeginning?
We follow the weekly calendar of the pagans and they follow the weekly calendar of the Church.
I guess it’s hard to convince João that “segunda feira” should be the first day of the week
Huh, no. Where is this shite from? Monday is the first day of the week.
Nobody here thinks Sunday is the first day of the week in day to day life.
I like how the no keeps getting bigger, like wtf, of course not
BFFs against the world
Joao will give his explanation once he has read that of his “ally” Barry.
In valencian it also starts on weekend that why is called “cap de setmana” headweek, but use the standard day order so in only a lingustical thing.
What, nobody posted the portugal pepe yet?
Sunday is the day of rest. You need to work first, before you need rest.
The only time I’ve ever seen Sunday used as the first day is a shitty rota system where I used to work
Greeks would like to have a word about this map.
I’m pretty sure Greece also sees Sunday as the first day of the week
Considering Sunday to be first day of the week is a Yank thing without much currency here.
Sunday is the end of the weekend… that’s a yank thing, not a uk thing.
My parents told me it was Sunday when I was a kid but I rejected that idea then and I still reject it. Sunday is clearly the final day of the weekend which is attached to the week preceding it. Sunday being day 1 is just fucking silly.
Here I am on the weekend / also first day of the week. Makes no fucking sense
No, in the UK it can be either Monday or Sunday depending on context and even who you ask. Not as simple as this.

Wtf since when?
Once again João and Barry stand united against barbarism
Not even your easter European brothers are with you this time Joao.
Huh? none of us think that
Monday in portuguese is segunda-feira. Segunda means second. It is the second day after the day of the lord. Something like that.
We are just more Christian than the rest of you pagans.
The fuck are you on about
Would someone PLEASE think of Stavros? The Greek words for Monday to Thursday are literally “Second” to “Fourth”, same as in Portuguese.

I always grew up with it as Monday.
