  1. Gary Lineker will reportedly present a new ITV Saturday night show months after being [forced to quit the BBC over anti-Semitism accusations](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/05/19/the-week-that-brought-gary-lineker-down/).

    The former England striker will return to screens fronting a game show called The Box.

    It comes after he was forced to step back from presenting Match of the Day in May for sharing a [pro-Palestinian video on Instagram which featured a rat emoji](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/05/13/gary-lineker-pro-palestine-video-rat-emoji-zionists/), considered to be an anti-Semitic slur against Jewish people.

    He took the post down and apologised, but last week said he stepped down after BBC bosses told him it was [“a case of quit or be quitted”](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/29/gary-lineker-i-thought-apology-would-save-my-bbc-job/).

  6. and this is the thing, like him or not he is a good presenter who should pull in audiences . If the BBC dont want him because his views are problematic, or he charges too much then someone else will take him

  7. For all the people complaining about how much the BBC paid him, the contract with ITV will undoubtedly be large as well.
