  1. When I read Švejk there was a notice about how officers became more friendly towards troops as the regiment moved closer to the front lines.

    They were nice to their subordinates, because they didn’t wanted to get fragged.

    This Russian officer was either stupid or though that nothing can happen to him. One or another, definitely haven’t read Švejk.
