It said the achievement demonstrated how its regional hubs across Europe were working in lockstep to support growing cross-border volumes and deliver high service standards.

The network said that since its launch, Palletways Hungary had maintained full coverage with no service interruptions – and this had been supported by its 13 members.

It said the Biatorbágy-based hub remained highly efficient under pressure and had managed overnight volume surges of up to 40%, while achieving an on-time performance rate of 98.2%.

Many of the pallets processed through Hungary originated from, or were destined for, partners in other countries, such as Germany, Italy and France.

Palletways Hungary’s Biatorbágy-based hub has transported over one million pallets.

Palletways said these cross-border shipments were made possible via the collaboration between its European networks and showed the strength in its hub-and-spoke model.

Rob Gittins, MD for Palletways UK, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by our colleagues in Hungary and testament to the strength of the Palletways network.

“For our members and customers here in the UK, it reinforces the value of being part of a truly pan-European operation.”
