  1. In before someone says that an area governed politically and militarily by a terrorist organization, that is sworn to try and annihilate their neighbours, should be left unhindered in their ambitions.

If trading land for peace worked, Hamas would not have escalated attacks as a direct response to the 1993 Oslo Accords, and then again after 2005 Gaza withdrawal. No peace came after Israel left Gaza strip, and so why should Israel not withdraw from their own withdrawal? Hamas didn’t uphold their end of the bargain, in fact they quadruple escalated rocket attacks in 2006/07, which is partly why Egypt and Israel clamped down on Gaza strip’s borders in 2007, since Hamas also killed their political opponents and evicted the PNSF from border control.

The sooner people realize that this is an ideological/theological war aimed at ridding the Middle East of Jews (as extremists have successfully done to every other minority group in the entire Arab world), and not a resistance fight for an autonomous state, then the sooner the West can actually address the source of the problem in the Gaza strip.

The fact that Hamas would likely win in a landslide in the West Bank demonstrates that this ideology is present there as well.

  2. For those who really have no idea about inner mood in israel regarding this and want to formulate opinions based on headlines; don’t read on.

There are loads of riots across various intersections in Israel right now, including tire burnings both in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Today the JPPI published their survey regarding Israeli opinions and 54% are in favor of hostage deal EVEN if hamas stays in power ([source](https://jppi.org.il/he/%d7%9e%d7%93%d7%93-%d7%94%d7%97%d7%91%d7%a8%d7%94-%d7%94%d7%99%d7%a9%d7%a8%d7%90%d7%9c%d7%99%d7%aa-%d7%9c%d7%97%d7%95%d7%93%d7%a9-%d7%90%d7%95%d7%92%d7%95%d7%a1%d7%98-54-%d7%9e%d7%94%d7%a6%d7%99/)). There are loads of mother’s organization publicly calling for disobeying orders and to not enter Gaza to occupy it against the IDF’s advice and only infavor of our cabinet’s decision (can’t really source as a lot of these videos are on x\facebook which would get my comment deleted. look for אמהות בחזית or איילת השחר סיידוף).

There are already talks about firing Zamir ([source](https://www.i24news.tv/he/news/news/politics/artc-7b4b58f0)) in case he refuses to get the IDF to occupy Gaza (which currently it seems IDF is against), the same Cabinet who ran through hoops to get him hired and promised us a “militant commander, a victor, a leader” or some bullshit. There’s a big fight between IAF and Southern Command ([source](https://www.ynet.co.il/news/article/yokra14466347)) that’ll make this a nightmare for the IDF to proceed if they actually go through with it. IDF is completely exhausted and to ice it all – IDF has began to arrest Haridi who are draft-dodging, sparking a huge protest with the Haridim, who called this “war” on them ([source](https://www.srugim.co.il/1158946-%D7%A9%D7%99%D7%90-%D7%94%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%AA%D7%95%D7%A7-%D7%94%D7%A2%D7%99%D7%AA%D7%95%D7%9F-%D7%94%D7%97%D7%A8%D7%93%D7%99-%D7%99%D7%AA%D7%93-%D7%A0%D7%90%D7%9E%D7%9F-%D7%94%D7%9B%D7%A8%D7%99)) like the completely detached people they are, making a huge portion of the population furious with them with this terminology and their detachment from reality.

so things are REALLY tense here in the civil aspect in case things aren’t being portrayed in global media.

My hopes; Zamir would refuse to enact on the cabinet’s plan and things go south for our cabinet. pretty please. 🙁
