Why not give it to the Palestinian authorities? Why not a two-state solution?
This is problematic and I think it means that he is still pursuing his goal of removing the Palestinians from Gaza and likely permanently annexing most of it.
>Hamas, in a statement, called Netanyahu’s comments “a blatant coup” against the negotiation process.
>
>“Netanyahu’s plans to expand the aggression confirm beyond any doubt that he seeks to get rid of his captives and sacrifice them,” the statement said.
>
>The terror group added that it would view any governing force formed in line with Netanyahu’s proposal as an “occupying force linked to Israel.”
>
>A Jordanian official told Reuters on Thursday, following Netanyahu’s comments, that Amman “will only support what Palestinians agree and decide on.”
>
>“Security in Gaza must be done through legitimate Palestinian institutions,” the source said. “Arabs will not be agreeing to Netanyahu’s policies nor clean his mess.”
Hamas has got to go. Hopefully, more peace-minded groups will step up and fill a leadership role, and stop dooming the Palestinians to delusionally attempting to wipe out Israel.
Sadly right now according to polls, Hamas is the most popular group in both the West Bank & Gaza right now. It’s why the PA is too scared to have an election.
Palestinian’s seem to hate Jews & Israel so much they’d rather continue the current cycle than work towards a better future for themselves. It’s depressing to see.
Israel has broken Palestine. Now, Israel casts off the Palestinians as though they’re abandoned orphans to some nebulous ward/guardian. As I’ve mentioned before, this is all according to the Zionist plan. Netanyahu does not care about the Palestinians, no Israeli has in previous decades of usurpation.
Palestinians have the right to self-determination. If Canada, France & the UK were serious w/r/t recognizing Palestine as a state, they would support Palestinians in Gaza & the illegally Occupied Territories in the formulation of their government. They should also help with security concerns in those areas. It would be great if other nations put boots on the ground in support of the beleaguered Palestinians. The main thing is that Palestine not be put up for bid to be governed by outsiders.
Do not let Netanyahu get away with this.
hell will freeze over before Arab states get involved in any meaningful way. It’s going to have to come from within but there needs a sea change. On paper it looks like the perfect time to throw Marwan Barghouti back into the mix but don’t see Israel allowing it
What the hell happened to “Trumps Plan” I thought the US was supposed to take over and develop the Gaza Strip? Back in May Netanyahu was all about that.
> Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated that he is “committed” to Donald Trump’s plan to take over and develop the Gaza Strip, amid uncertainty over whether Israel will send a delegation to Qatar to discuss the second stage of the fragile ceasefire in the war with Hamas.
Jesus Christ, you remind me of that man with the moustache and hat from the Jubilee debates.
Anyway, you’re oversimplifying this into a comic book plot where Hamas exists only to “kill Gazans,” where you think you’re presented an analytical argument, but really, you’ve just repeated hasbara propaganda. The group’s own leadership has publicly stated, including in August 2025 that they will not disarm unless there’s an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital (you can google it). You can reject those terms, but pretending they have no political demands and just thrive on Palestinian deaths is either at best ignorance of dishonesty at worst.
As for “why don’t they surrender?” Look to history. It shows that armed movements rarely do without negotiated terms. The IRA didn’t lay down arms out of goodwill; they entered the Good Friday Agreement when political guarantees were secured. Even Israel’s own negotiations with other militant groups follow this pattern.
And cherry-picking only partisan outlets like FDD and the NY Post while ignoring independent or multilateral sources (UN, ICRC, Amnesty, Human Rights Watch) is exactly how you end up arguing from ideology rather than fact.
If you want to critique Hamas effectively, start from reality and not from a script designed to score points in a comments section.
Any country that does takes them up on this offer will become a hostage to Israel. They’ll essentially be providing a security guarantee to Israel, and setting themselves up for bombardment if they lose control and anyone from Gaza attacks Israel. Seems like a terrible deal.
Also based on my readings, the Arab militaries are not known for strong esprit de corps. The average soldier or low-level officer might not be as willing to participate in a brutal occupation as their Satrap leaders.
