  1. On Monday, pro-[Kremlin](https://inews.co.uk/topic/kremlin?srsltid=AfmBOor7qg7rE-JgrBwm_wrUO5d7iKhFJsV2PXLHpuW68fyDm6UdhD6I&ico=in-line_link) news outlets and social media accounts published a bombshell report. Two British special forces officers and an [MI6](https://inews.co.uk/topic/mi6?srsltid=AfmBOoplbmtvbyk4OJWvzInC3HG1Zi0dk9U9YaZGEuzj7gQL9Sy4-pod&ico=in-line_link) operative had been captured in [Ukraine](https://inews.co.uk/topic/ukraine?srsltid=AfmBOoqwbxpclo07JqzLAHzMrer3MbugVqHvS8PF9oLIc5hPWJP1IDta&ico=in-line_link) by Russian authorities.

If true, it would serve as a major coup for Russian President [Vladimir Putin](https://inews.co.uk/topic/vladimir-putin?srsltid=AfmBOoosTTC8G9wXZmt7lLxidxf9jD-jPkNAdfewht4YAZCf-fqURYX7&ico=in-line_link), boosting Russian morale during a time of heightened tensions between Moscow and London.

The report, published by EADaily, a Moscow-based site known for echoing Russian state narratives, claimed that Colonels Edward Blake and Richard Carroll, along with an unnamed British intelligence officer, had been caught in a Russian operation near the front lines. It alleged they were “preparing a provocation or participating in sabotage operations” on Ukrainian territory.

The story cited the Norwegian website [Steigan.no](http://Steigan.no), which the *UK Defence Journal* reported as having a long history of publishing anti-Western and conspiratorial content.

The EADaily story reported that the “prisoners” were found with “military documents and diplomatic passports” and that the UK had initially said they were tourists before offering a prisoner swap “in the hope of exchanging them for detained Russian servicemen”.

The article was accompanied by a photograph showing two men in army uniforms, hands behind their backs, kneeling beneath masked men in military uniforms holding assault rifles. It was a powerful image designed to show the world Russia’s ability to thwart sophisticated attacks.

  2. Fucking hell, Cuomo falling for the AOC deepfake and now multiple MPs falling for this obvious AI garbage? Boomers are really struggling with identifying what’s real.

  3. The one on the right looks like Professor Leo Dalton

  4. George Galloway always has his lips around putin’s cock

  5. Fuck posting your own shitty newspaper that requires sign up.

  6. There a so many mistakes in this AI generated image that you have to be pretty naïve to believe it at all.

Firstly, the lighting an composition are obviously AI.

    But my 4 favourite issues:

    1. Guard on left is holding his AK-47 backwards with all the weight on the bottom of the trigger handle – that’s a very *weird* way of holding a weapon and one that I’m not even sure that’s possible in real life.
    2. Guard in the middle is holding a fore-stock handle which isn’t fitted – so his left hand is holding thin air.
    3. Everyone’s clothes look like they came out of the laundry – certainly never seen field conditions.
    4. Why are the prisoners captive whilst still wearing their rucksacks? That’s not good security!
