The Biden administration gave investigators access to sensitive Treasury documents in 2024, but that access was shut down in early 2025 by the Trump administration. One focus was billionaire Leon Black, who paid Epstein millions and later got immunity in a settlement with the US Virgin Islands. The DOJ has since been blocking further access, and reports have come out about Deputy AG Todd Blanche meeting privately with Ghislaine Maxwell and offering her partial immunity in exchange for names linked to Epstein.
