Putin To US: I’ll Stop War In Return For Eastern Ukraine

  1. Witkoff has no experience. Really. Zero.First problem (he’s likely not aware of). Russia doesn’t occupy the totality of the oblasts….

  2. Putin’s latest gambit—offering to halt the war in Ukraine if granted control over Eastern Ukraine—reads less like a peace proposal and more like a demand for territorial vindication disguised as diplomacy. This is classic Kremlin theater: dangling ceasefire talks while cementing gains on the battlefield, all under the watchful eyes of a Washington eager for an accord and a Ukraine left to wrestle with an impossible choice. Peace at the price of sovereignty? That’s not a bargain—it’s a capitulation. And as the world watches, the real question remains: will the West reward conquest or uphold principle?

  3. How is a source named “joemygod.com” allowed here?

  4. Did they say pause or end the war for this land?

  5. East Ukraine as in freezing the line or in making Ukraine give up more territory?

The first is probably the best deal we will ever get out of Russia, the second is dead on arrival in Brussels and Kiev.

  6. and disarmament. and no nato. and no security guarantees. and the promise to get the rest gift-wrapped before 2030.

  7. Somewhere: *Ok, I will stop stealing only if I can keep all the loot plus the rest I couldn’t take just to keep the collection complete.*

The actual victim: *Euh, do you guys want to hear my opinion?*

  8. Putin is lying, once he moves the bar and begins rebuilding troops the bar will move again. The EU knows it and once one country gives up, more attempts will be made

  9. Bad deal for Ukraine. They need a peace agreement not a ceasefire.

    1. Ukraine has major fortification lines in Donetsk. If they abandon these they leave themselves seriously exposed.
    2. A notable percent of Ukraine’s army is now unwilling conscripts. Presumably these will be allowed to return home. If war breaks out again in 1-2 years. You will not be able to round these people up quickly. So Ukraine will have a personal issue at the onset of the next war. Russia’s army is more volunteer. So if they need to mobilise for round two. They will be able to do so faster.
    3. With only a ceasefire and no peace agreement. No one will want to invest capital into Ukraine. The risk & return will not stack up. As at any point Russia can invade and you lose your capital. This is capital Ukraine desperately needs but won’t get.
    4. Russia will keep its economy on a quasi wartime footing. Accumulating a massive amount of material. They are producing 1200 isklander’s, 62,000 Geran’s, 4 million 152 mm shells a year right now. Ukraine on the other hand will produce and be gifted relatively less. They desperately need to repair their infrastructure money will be directed here not into munitions. In a couple of years there will be a massive mismatch. Russia knows exactly what it needs and at what quantity to defeat Ukraine in round 2. It will produce this.
    5. With no long term solution and a war likely in the future. Many men may leave Ukraine. Men Ukraine needs to rebuild.

  10. And then a year from now he starts all over again either there or somewhere else to gain more land with the same eventual deal. Only way I’d even half consider this is if Ukraine joins NATO

  11. Not sure how Ukraine will ever get that territory back.

Anyways the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska has cold war vibes

  12. No. What a ridiculous offer. Who in the world is not laughing?

  13. Trump wants the peace prize so badly he’s willing to throw a nation to the wolves to get it. I hate that man so much I can’t even describe it in words because it wouldn’t do it justice

  14. TACO trump is believing Putin again now. He is just desperate to be seen to have ended the war because he is delusional in thinking he can get the Nobel Peace Prize (no doubt the sycophant yes people in his regime are all telling him it’s a certainty).

  15. When Europe folded under Trump’s trade pressure, accepting tariffs and promising more than half a trillion in vassalage payments, it sent the message to Putin that Western Europe is weak. Putin smelled blood in the water and is now going for the throat.

  16. Ok. Problem: America can’t give you that. And Ukraine certainly won’t, either.
