    President Donald Trump said Friday that there will be “swapping of territories” between Russia and Ukraine as part of a deal to bring an end to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

    Asked Friday whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose country was invaded by Russia in 2022, will have to give up territory as part of a peace deal, Trump responded: “Well, you’re looking at territory that’s been fought over for three and a half years … you know, a lot of Russians have died. A lot of Ukrainians have died.”

    “So we’re looking at that, but we’re actually looking to get some back,” the president added. “Some swapping. It’s complicated … but we’re going to get some back, we’re going to get some switched. There’ll be some swapping of territories to the betterment of both, but we’ll be talking about that either later or tomorrow.”

    Trump hails this as amazing win for himself, testament to his incredible negotiating skills (Art of the Deal).

    Zelenskyy obvs says ‘no’, war resumes, Trump says it’s all Zelenskyy’a fault for not agreeing to his awesome deal.

    I’d have expected him to sell Ukraine out more…Such as no swapping, Russia keeps all, Ukraine forfeits Kursk etc.

  18. I think the swap is giving up all of Donestsk and Luhansk from Ukraine for the occupied areas of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia for Russia. This is just the terms for a ceasefire, not the end of the war. Again not the end of the war.

  39. This sub really has its head in the sand if it believes there is any other way to end this war. How many more generations of Ukrainians have to die. Clearly they have a manpower issue. And no western nation is going to send troops, unlike Russias allies. Either nato troops have to fight and die, Ukraine gives up land , or Ukraine slowly gives up land. The Russian collapse is still probably years away.

  40. This is what will happen. Trump will declare the ceasefire and when Ukraine and Europe don’t agree he will remove support from Ukraine and use it as justification to overly Tariff Europe. This is his plan all along. Threaten a Russia and India sanction and then actually sanction Europe for not agreeing to his big beautiful deal. Fuck him.
