Croatia’s tourist accommodation capacity continues to expand, with Dubrovnik-Neretva County cementing its position as a leader in high-end stays.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the country had 1,197 hotels by mid-July 2025—nine more than last year—including 74 in the five-star category. Of these, 20 are located in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the highest concentration in Croatia. In total, the county has 60 hotels in the four- and five-star range, ranking just behind Split-Dalmatia and Kvarner.
Private accommodation is also on the rise, with a nationwide increase of 1,359 properties compared to last year. High-category listings dominate the southern market, with Dubrovnik continuing to attract investment in luxury villas and apartments aimed at discerning visitors.
Tourism officials say the figures reflect sustained demand for quality accommodation along the southern Adriatic, driven by Dubrovnik’s global profile and the region’s appeal for premium travellers.
