  1. > “Too many people live,” she said. “The ‘core four’ needs to die. We killed [Jamie Kennedy’s Randy Meeks] in ‘Scream 2.’ We should be down to two of the ‘core four,’ just by ‘Scream 7.’”

  2. The story really is she wants her character back even though she was brutally killed on screen cause others got brought back.

  3. i don’t even know where to start with how much this got on my nerves lol. first it feels tone deaf to say knowing one of the core four were fired for standing up for what they believe in. they also didn’t kill any of the three leads until the 5th movie and everyone lost their minds when dewey died.

scream 7 going back to being about sidney is a sure fire sign that this series has run its course. i’m sure it’ll make money and there will be more but god. how tiresome.

  4. Scream 6 was ridiculous. Everyone got stabbed no one dies except Tamara Weaving ffs.

  5. This is kind of a thing with movies now that the stakes aren’t as high because they refuse to kill the main cast. Why is that? I remember all bets were off in some films and anyone could’ve gotten killed.

Do audiences now not like it when this happens?

I’m still reeling from Carl Weathers dying in Predator 1, Bill Paxton in Predator 2, Jeremy Renner in 28 Weeks Later, Jaime Kennedy in Scream 2, etc. All the lovable scene stealers from their franchises.

  6. I always forget she’s even in them, her character dies so fast lol. I suppose I’d be a bit bitter too.

  7. Didn’t her and her husband get accused of stealing the idea for their most recent movie? Who fucking cares what this chick says.

  8. She’s right. 6 sucked, was the worst in the series, and a refusal to kill *anyone* is a big reason

  9. She was half joking though. They asked her about Dewey’s death too and she said “well not the main 3!”

  10. Plottwist: in the community movie everyone but abed will die.

  11. In the last movie, a character was stabbed more than 12 times and survived. His twin sister got stabbed in the subway and was on her feet a few hours later for the epilogue. No matter how many times you are stabbed in theses movies, you end up sitting in the ambulance with a blanket over your shoulders, bandaged, talking and laughing like nothing happened until you stand up/laugh and remember the pain with an “ouch.” These movies are completely ridiculous and I can’t wait for the next one. I love you Sid ! you deserve the world !

  12. I agree on the core four being killed off. Personally, I would have kept Melissa, and Jenna alive, and killed off the rest of the characters in Scream 6. I aways assumed they were going to build up to either Melissa or Jenna being a Ghostface, but I guess we’ll never get that. But, that’s why I think those two characters should have lived.

  13. I couldn’t agree more. I seriously can’t stand Scream 5 & 6 cause of The Core Four.

  14. Not Sidney. You can take anyone you want, but you can’t kill Sidney Prescott

  15. I haven’t kept up with Scream movies in forever. They just keep pumping em out.

  16. Feels like they have to choose. An effective death or a lucrative sequel.

  17. The Core Four schtick was super cringey especially when they declared themselves that in the last movie. The brother even got stabbed like 20 times but still lived!?

Hopefully with Jenna and her sister gone, I hope the opening of the new scream and killing off the brother and sister so we can start clean.

  18. I would watch a horror movie directed by Alison Brie in a heartbeat. She knows what she’s about.

  19. Original side characters (like Gale) could potentially be killed. But never kill the final girl off in a sequel. There have been very few (if any?) franchises where that has been successfully received. Not Halloween, when they killed off Laurie Strode, not Nightmare on Elm Street when they killed off Nancy, not Alien when they killed of Ripley. Because it’s a middle finger to the audiences that have gone on that journey with her. To kill her off makes us question why we spent time with her in the previous movies if it was all for nothing. You’re just trashing on the original movie.

The proper way was what they had planned, but didn’t pan out with the Carpenter sisters. If they need new energy, let Sydney ride off into the sunset and refocus the movies on a new cast.

  20. Ghostface actually needs to win for once. It’s annoying always knowing that the killers will die shortly after the reveal.

  21. In real life yes, we need to hear more about tragic accidents in the actors lives, no matter how much money they make

  22. I’ve always thought the series would work better as an anthology series. That way anyone can die, and anyone can be the killer.

  23. The BIGGEST problem with the Scream franchise is that the first movie was the best one, and the first movie sucked ass.

  24. That one guy getting stabbed like 10 times and then him surviving was pretty bad

  25. That’s the meta thing about Scream — it’s always played with the “rules” of horror. In the ’90s, letting characters survive broke convention. Now, after years of screams keeping the OGs alive, that’s the convention… so killing them would be the twist. That being said, the norm of hollywood requels is that legacy characters are brought back just to kill them.

  26. Honestly, Scream shouldn’t stopped after the first. The first movie was a great lightning in a bottle movie. For in perfectly with the year of its release. We needed it. We loved it. They milked it.

  27. Quit watching them after the first one, and I’ve never been disappointed..
