  14. Curfew maybe, possibly armed federal officers on every street corner with orders to arrest anyone they do not like the look of. Maybe the National Guard called up to ring the city and prevent anyone entering or leaving, including members of Congress, in September?

  26. Prediction: at the presser he’ll tell everyone his solution is 2 weeks away.

  27. He’s going to take federal control of the city, including the local police force.

    He’ll then assign officers (from among his loyal band) to follow and target democratic opposition members who live and work in the city, looking for any flimsy pretense on which to arrest them.

    Arrest a few, intimidate the rest, and widen the margin in Congress while you’re at because they can’t vote from jail.

    If he announces federal forces in the streets of DC, that crosses one of the biggest and boldest red lines we have. I don’t know what we do. If there are any somewhat-sane Republican Congress people, now is the time you say “this has gone too far.” Otherwise you may never get another chance.

  36. Of the top 50 cities over last 3 years DC is 35th. In the top 10, 8 of them are in republican states. The top 8 are 2 to 3x worse than DC. I wonder how much of this is really about Trump placing ICE or military in all major cities.
