The Republic of Moldova also purchases plastic packaging materials and food products from Bulgaria.
In turn, Moldova exports sunflower and rapeseed seeds, as well as sunflower seed oil, to Bulgaria, worth a total of $78.2 million in 2024. Gas meters, mineral oils (petroleum derivatives), electrical wires, and cables were also exported.
“The continuous growth in trade with Bulgaria means more opportunities for Moldovan companies to sell their products on the European market. At the same time, this trend reflects mutual trust and the potential for a sustainable economic partnership that benefits both economies,” according to a press release from the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization.
In 2024, Romania continued to be Moldova’s main trading partner among the European Union member states. Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic occupy the following positions.
