A new kind of community gathering place has arrived in Los Alamos — Desert Bloom Play Café — combining a welcoming coffee shop atmosphere with a safe, engaging indoor play space for children.
Located at 147 Central Park Square, Desert Bloom Play Café is designed for everyone to enjoy — whether you’re a parent looking for a fun outing with the kids or simply someone who loves good coffee, ice cream, and a cozy place to relax. Guests are welcome anytime, no kids or play session required.
Everyone can sip locally roasted coffee, espresso drinks, Italian sodas or treat themselves to ice cream and light snacks, while children explore a thoughtfully designed play area that encourages creativity, movement, and social interaction.
In addition to daily play sessions, Desert Bloom offers:
Birthday Party Packages;
Special Events & Activities; and
A cozy, community-focused café perfect for meeting friends, working remotely, or simply unwinding.
Owner Lauren Lippiatt says, “I wanted to create a space that truly feels welcoming to everyone — a place where parents can relax while kids play, but also where anyone in the community can stop in for coffee, ice cream, and connection.”
Desert Bloom Play Café is now open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, with flexible play session bookings and party reservations available.
