After Prince Harry stepped down as a senior royal and moved to the US in 2020, his relationship with King Charles and Prince William quickly unraveled. The Duke’s bombshell interviews and tell-all memoir, filled with serious allegations against the royal family, only deepened the rift. While Charles reportedly still misses his ‘darling boy,’ William has allegedly been less forgiving of his brother’s public outbursts. Royal expert Kristen Meinzer suggests that Harry’s feud with William is far more difficult to mend than his tensions with his father.

While Harry hasn’t shied away from airing his dirty laundry in public, Charles and William have remained tight-lipped about their equation with the Sussexes. Reflecting on the same, Meinzer told Us Weekly, “I think that Harry’s relationship with his brother is a different beast than his relationship with his father. But perhaps if Charles warms more to Harry, William will feel compelled to follow his lead.” Her comments come just weeks after reports surfaced about a ‘secret summit’ between Harry’s private secretary, Meredith Maines, and Charles’s communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae, aimed at exploring potential ‘peace talks.’ The two royal aides were also photographed alongside Liam Maguire, who heads the Sussexes’ UK PR team.

In an apparent effort to repair his strained relationship with Charles, Harry has reportedly agreed to share his official schedule to avoid clashing with major royal events. Commenting on the matter, Meinzer opined, “It shows that things have not completely broken down between father and son, and that Harry, in particular, wants to mend fences.” The scheduling tension came to light when Harry’s recent trip to Angola dominated headlines, drawing attention away from Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday. His visit to China, for the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference on May 26, was also viewed as a strategic move to overshadow Charles and Camilla’s state visit to Canada the same day.

As for William’s unforgiveness, a source told the publication that the Prince of Wales is ‘done’ with Harry’s antics, especially after his scathing BBC interview. They claimed, “William doesn’t talk about Harry anymore. Everyone knows it’s a subject that they shouldn’t bring up, so he hasn’t brought up the interview and won’t… When he becomes King, everybody thinks the divide will become even wider.” Meanwhile, royal author Christopher Anderson explained why Charles has remained silent despite Harry’s serious allegations. He said, “The Palace does not want to give oxygen to Harry’s remarks. King Charles has a lot on his plate as it is — there is no upside to his getting into a public quarrel with his son.”
William and Kate Middleton are reportedly strongly opposed to a potential reconciliation with Harry amid the ongoing peace summit. A friend of the Waleses told the Daily Mail, “They [William and Middleton] were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution. The fact that it ended up in the newspapers tells you all you need to know.” According to reports, William has lost all trust in Harry and Meghan Markle following their decision to air private grievances in interviews.
