A pair of armed carjackers stole at least three vehicles, including a semi-truck, from a driver in the middle of a car chase from the San Fernando Valley to downtown LA on Sunday.

The chase began in Lancaster after law enforcement received a call of a carjacking at gunpoint. Two people took off from the scene in a stolen truck and led officers on a pursuit toward Santa Clarita.

At some point, the assailants traveled on the wrong side of the 5 Freeway and stopped on the side in the San Fernando Valley. While halted, they approached a parked semi-truck and forced the driver out of the vehicle. The carjacking suspects then continued the pursuit in the stolen semi-truck.

The chase continued toward Los Angeles, with the semi-truck traveling on surface streets near downtown.

At some point, the suspects ditched the big rig and stole a pickup truck while near downtown LA. Police eventually found the suspects again and chased them to Lincoln Heights, where the assailants managed to discretely ditch the truck and took off in a fourth vehicle — a black sedan.
