Who the feck thinks an 2 or 3 bed apartment is worth £450,00 to £525,000 ANYWHERE in Northern Ireland. I wish the would feck off with all this shite. It is ridiculous to charge that much and anyone who is willing to pay that much should be locked up in the nearest looney bin and anyone being part of selling it should be floated out into the Atlantic with a spoon as a paddle.

  1. And according to the Department of Finance for rates purposes no house is worth more £450k, or something nonsensical like that.

  2. In fairness, the housing market is an absolute fucking sick joke, but seafront has always been ridiculously expensive. The difference is that far enough in the past those would rarely have been on the public market to begin with. They’d have been sold off under the table in a predetermined exclusive circle.

  3. This one is a bit crazy – https://www.propertypal.com/penthouse-apartment-18-the-mansion-house-ardavon-house-apartments-ardcultra/1016946

  4. if you didnt have kids or they were grown up and moved out, this would actually be a pretty nice place to sell up and move to so long as the service charges arent mental (which they probably are). You are right on the waterfront and still have space outside to chill on the balcony looking over the water on a nice summers day. Could think of worse places to have a few friends over for a bbq and a few beers.

  5. Be glad you aren’t in southern England.

Used to work with a team in Portsmouth. They had no concept I was able to buy my first house at 24. they had absolutely no chance without substantial parental support.

Now, we’re slowly seeing this trend work it’s way over here.

  6. I wish there was a comment section on PropertyPal so I could tell so many of these overpriced rathole sellers to wind their necks in.

  7. And add the crazy service fees that it will no doubt bring with it.

  8. Looks like those generic retirement community apartments you get in the States. Just needs the golf carts and everyone wearing visors.

  9. Not sure if this is the right place for it, but hopefully it makes sense. Gary Stevenson is an economist who is actively campaigning for tax reform, to fix wealth inequality, the housing market (especially lack of affordable housing) is an element. if you haven’t seen any of his stuff, would recommend searching him on YT

  10. Property will just keep going up that is normal just like the stock market. My family built there house for 10k in 1980, its worth 260k now. That’s the way things go, not what young people want to hear but wasn’t easy to get a mortgage in previous era’s either. We will not get a crash like 2008 ever again, 1m quid houses will be normal here in not to distant future.

The only cheap area’s left now are west tyrone and parts of fermanagh.

  11. You could rent that out easily for £400 a night. 12. Apparently the previously more profitable parts of the UK like the south of England I’ve become less profitable so there moving their money into places like the north of England and Belfast. So sadly things are only going to get more expensive in the short-term. 😞

  13. Yuck that water looks a bit stinking. You couldn’t pay me to live in greenisland
