ST. LOUIS — A new “pet emporium” and sports bar is to open in the former Bar K space in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.
The Rail Apartments, together with the owners of the adjacent 4565 McRee property where Bar K was located, will open a new project, to be operated by Seneca CRE. The project will take over the space once occupied by Bar K, which closed its St. Louis location in July and filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in early August.
The new project is to include a sports bar with a food and drink menu; a canine carnival with trainers, games and enrichment activities; grooming, overnight accommodations and boarding services; and a pet retail shop. Officials said they are also working to keep Kennelwood involved for grooming, day camp and training services at the new facility. Kennelwood operated at the Bar K space before its closure.
