A show dedicated to Michael Jackson and his hits is being staged at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, in Valletta, on August 11 at 9pm.
The show features a dynamic cast of dancers and performers with Alessio Piuma channelling the energy, style and presence of the ‘King of Pop’.

SummerDaze Malta
The annual summer festival is back from August 11 to 17, with the main events happening at Ta’ Qali National Park on August 15 and 17.
The festival kicks off on August 11 with a performance by South American artist Bresh, who blends reggaeton and Spanish rap, at UNO Malta in Ta’ Qali, and continues on August 12 with a BBC Dance X event featuring deejays Oliver Heldens and Arielle Free at Café Del Mar, Qawra.
The first main event on August 15 will be headlined by Central Cee, Mabel and will feature a closing set by Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello, supported by BBC Radio 1’s deejays Charlie Hedges and Jeremiah Asiamah.
Radio 1 Dance: Malta will return to UNO Malta on August 16, featuring David Guetta and Becky Hill, besides Hedges and Asiamah. The event is sold out.
The second main event and festival finale on August 17 will star Sfera Ebbasta, Kid Yugi, Clara, Bob Sinclar and Albertino, followed by a reggaeton closing by Vida Loca.

Pink Floyd The Story Tribute Show
Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta is hosting a Pink Floyd tribute show on August 13 at 9pm.
The visual and sonic tale retraces the extraordinary career of Pink Floyd, from the psychedelic beginnings with Syd Barrett, to timeless masterpieces like The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall.

Glitch Festival
The electronic music festival returns on August 13 with a grand opening in the Valletta ditch and the main event taking place on August 14 and 15 at Gianpula Village.
Over 80 acts are taking part in this year’s edition including Funk Tribu, KETTAMA, Malugi, Pegassi, Dax J, Anetha b2b SPFDJ, Charlie Sparks, Clara Cuvé, X CLUB., Sam Alfred, Rene Wise, Chlär, DJ Nobu and Setaoc Mass.
There will also be a number of boat parties and a closing party at Gianpula Village on August 16.

Fireworks Spectacular
On August 14, Mqabba is once again hosting a fireworks spectacle featuring its famous Tower of Light, which this year will be taller than ever at 62 metres.
The event includes traditional fireworks, a pyromusical display, a grand finale and also a mechanised ground fireworks shows.

The Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival: 20 years anniversary
This year marks the 20th edition of the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival. On August 12, an online meeting will commemorate the past 19 editions with the writers who were part of the festival over the years and who now live abroad.
Clare Azzopardi, Miriam Calleja, Antoine Cassar, Elizabeth Grech, Nadia Mifsud, John Portelli, Karl Schembri and Ġużè Stagno will come together for readings and the sharing of a memory or two during an evening hosted by Leanne Ellul.

Xlendi Tower Open Weekend
The Munxar local council, in collaboration with Heritage Malta’s Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit, is holding an open day at the historica Xlendi Tower on August 16 and 17.
Visitors can explore the tower’s rich cultural history and enjoy panoramic views of Xlendi Bay, before discovering a hidden underwater world.
This year’s event features an immersive virtual reality experience, offering a virtual dive into the Xlendi Underwater Archaeological Park and the Phoenician shipwreck.
Inside the tower, there will also be a display of underwater artefacts, offering insight into centuries of maritime history that lie beneath Gozo’s waters.
The Xlendi Tower will be open between 9am and noon and 1.30 to 4pm on both days.
Entrance is free for all visitors and no pre-booking is required.

Ta’ Sannat Beer Fest
Sannat is hosting the third edition of its beer festival in St Margaret Square on August 16 from 8 to 11.30pm.
One may sample over 30 local and international beers, including gluten-free beers, non-alcoholic options and craft beers, while listening to live music by Glen and Amber and Kevin Paul Calleja.

Summer Night Eco Market at Mellieħa
Eco Market Malta is holding another edition of its summer night market in Mellieħa from August 14 to 17 from 7 to 11pm.
Visitors can stroll along Tas-Santwarju Square and browse through the eco-friendly stalls selling all kinds of crafts.
