Trump-Putin meeting agreed for ‘coming days’, Kremlin says • FRANCE 24 English

The talks will mark the first time that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have been in the same room since 2019. But after weeks of worsening relations between the two leaders, the Kremlin says they will meet as early as next week at an undisclosed venue that has been agreed in principle. According to Russian presidential aid Yuri Yusukov, at the suggestion of the United States, an agreement has been reached in principle to hold a bilateral summit in the coming days. Diplomats have now begun working out the details of the meeting. Announcement comes after American special envoy Steve Witkov met with Putin in Moscow on Wednesday in talks the Kremlin called productive. Trump had earlier given Russia until Friday to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine or face further sanctions. Putin has so far resisted, but among the Russian public show that more and more people favor peace talks. I am absolutely in favor of negotiation because everything always ends with negotiations. If negotiations fail, renegotiation is required. When leaders of countries like this hold such a high level meeting, this will be useful both for Russia and the USA. I think Vladimir Zalinski said Ukraine and Europe must not be left out of the peace process though adding Ukraine is not afraid of meetings and expects the same brave approach from the Russian sides. Whitito did propose a trilateral meeting with Zilinski but Moscow has so far brushed aside that possibility.

  10. There will be no meeting. Trump has already managed to put forward the condition that Putin must first meet with Zelensky.
    And Putin, of course, will not do this now, when there are no preliminary agreements.

  15. Useless, until Trump signs on the dotted line no NATO and neutrality of Ukraine _ war ends and no need for ceasefire. Unfortunately Ukraine has paid a hefty price in unnecessary deaths and lost territory 🤷🏾‍♂️
