  1. The vigilante, who has been praised by some and criticised by others, has been questioned by detectives from British Transport Police (BTP) after coming forward to give his side of the story. BTP are appealing for witnesses and are trying to identify the other three men shown brawling with the man, who told them to ‘f*** off’ amid repeated requests to pull up his pants.

  2. Yup that’s how it works.

They will ask him what happened, he’ll tell them, they’ll go “yup fair enough, that meets the threshold”

It’s only if he’s an idiot and goes “well I gave him an extra slap to teach him a lesson” or something.

  3. He was witness to an incident on the tube. He’s answering questions about it so police can ascertain what happened.

The Daily Mail is a dishonest piece of shit.

  4. I mean, at this point it’s hard to cast judgement. Of course the police have to investigate this and question because it’s their job. When the court dates roll out and the fist comes down, we’ll see.

  5. Hopefully they’re questioning him to get tips from him on how they can improve their own policing of wrong’uns like this.

  6. The key to the city, a yacht, a rolex, and a black bin liner full of crisp £50s to each of the geezers who stepped in and dealt with the weirdo on that train.

Of course this is Britain instead they will be investigated and charged.

  7. Surely this has to be a Psyop, like how many sexual abuse stories are there happening daily where you wouldn’t stop and think “maybe its not a good idea to be a rapist right now”

  8. Initially I agreed with the actions of those blokes but then you take a step back and think that if this guy is genuinely mentally ill then attacking him won’t make any difference, the best thing to do would have been to create a circle so the guy isn’t exposing himself to kids or women and then safely escort him out at the next station.

It’s easier said than done though when the emotions are heating up, so totally understand how things spiralled out, but that shouldn’t be on the blokes. Just let it go now.

  9. Of course he’s being questioned.

There is a big difference to being charged and being questioned. The police are just fact finding, getting sides to the story.

He may be charged if he is considered to have used unreasonable force but thats not whats happened yet and may never happen.

  10. People in these comments are absolutely bonkers.

Guy was clearly mentally unwell, but that doesn’t give him the right to drop his trousers on a crowded train carriage and not suffer any form of punishment for it.

People suggesting anything else need to join the real world. It’s fine living a hypothetical life and saying we should have empathy and understanding until it’s actually in your face, or in some poor kids face who could be genuinely mentally scarred by his actions.

One question for the people saying it’s wrong, but why does he get to impact on other people’s lives to such a degree because of his illness?

  11. Not saying this is the case here but you do get situations where ‘vigilantes’ are just racist thugs looking for a fight….

I was once pushed a bit by an Asian guy and a big, old white guy asked me ‘did he push you?’ And then I saw him square up to the Asian guy…..but it looked as if the white guy was just looking for an excuse to let out his own aggression, just as the Asian guy was in pushing me.

There’s other ways of dealing with a guy dropping his pants or pushing someone other than violence.

  12. > BTP are appealing for witnesses and are trying to identify the other three men shown brawling with the man, who told them to ‘f*** off’ amid repeated requests to pull up his pants.

You can’t even get your cock out on the train these days, what is the world coming to.

  13. It’s to ensure there was a proportional response to prevent the crime.

  14. Yes, he’ll be interviewed by police as a matter of routine, and then let go with no further action.

Scaremongering headlines from the Daily Mail, imagine my surprise.

  15. the police dont help us

    we do the job

    we go jail

    this place is fekked

  16. A civilised society wouldn’t have let him be out in public to start with.

    “Care in the community”

  17. Pure anarcho tyranny is here in the UK. Men, mostly foreign, can sexually assault people and the police won’t stop them. But the instant a community minded person stops the criminal and protects the public from them, or even criticises it online, they can expect a prompt police response.

  19. Vigilante

“a member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority, typically because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate”

So unless he was looking for a sex offender to arrest, he’s not a Vigilante

  20. Well officer, in the heat o the moment I thought he was swinging a cosh around and acted accordingly

  21. There is going to see a lot more vigilantism going on (hopefully) in the future as police and the justice system are increasingly soft on this sort of thing. Either the laws are going to have to change in order to protect people doing the right thing (which they won’t) or a lot of people will be going to jail for doing what is right.

  22. Okay I hate to take the side of the police, but this is literally how it works. They’ll question him about what happened and as long as he doesn’t say anything re*arded they’ll likely let him go

  23. I understand filming this cretin to have evidence of a crime, but the moment legs start swinging in his direction and he gets a kicking, that’s when I’m cutting the recording off and I didn’t see a thing, except the crime of indecent exposure of course

  24. Sadly we are wet nursing bad behaviours and nurturing it.

The reason you saw it less years ago was that the individual was pulled up harshly

You now see warnings in hospitals to treat staff respect

When the fuck did it ever become ‘a thing ‘ not to ?

    We are regressing for sure

  25. As a witness. Unless he kicked the living sh1t out of the p3rv, they can only interview him as a witness.

  26. Learning a lot about who you wouldn’t want to get on a train with in this thread🤣

  27. maybe the guy was having a “sexual emergency” at the time /s
