Where I live a huge windpark was built next to a big important resting lake for migratory birds.
Turned out there are next to no problems because ornithologist were consulted prior to the construction and their input was sufficient to prevent notable harm.

They think enough Americans are that stupid, and they are probably right.
Cats kill birds, but not large birds of prey. Wind turbines can and should be designed and installed to minimize harm to these. I believe they generally are today, even if they haven’t always been in the past.
It’s not much different from light pollution complaints from the sea of blinking lights that exists in some places. Yes, it’s a concern that has a solution, and that solution should be applied.

The craziest part of this to me is that they’re not looking at attacking wind on bat impact grounds. That’s also a real concern and they chose not to use it.
There are real concerns about wildlife impacts from wind development but politicization like this does nothing to help the dedicated professionals working to understand and minimize those impacts.

In California, when trying to bring back the California Condor they noticed that many of them died by perching on power lines (their wing span so large, they would short out multiple wires when landing). So they built taller perches for the birds to rest on and that resulted in fewer deaths. While Bald Eagles dont have as large of a wingspan power lines can kill them and one solution is to give them higher points to perch on.
He uses the same logic regarding the whales. He wants to save those, so he de-regulated the fishing industry. He has eliminated a department that investigates chemical spills, and is axing funding to the EPAS. Yeah he really wants save all these innocent creatures, big and small.
It must be evident for all but the most diehard MAGA republicans and stalwart populists that Trump and his whole administration is straight up lying about anything and everything if it gains their political agenda and their personal interests.
Love every time a Maga cries about the environmental impact of a clean energy source while signing off on increasing coal and fracking production …
A bus killed a rather well-known bald eagle in Seattle several years ago. Is Trump going to go on a weird crusade against buses?
Actually, I’m not sure MAGAs like public transportation so maybe I shouldn’t give them any ideas. 😑
